Re: Security and Privacy Forum
I would say this is a good idea, though some people might see this as a reason to screw the tinfoil hats so tight they aren't rational. What I have learned in the last year from reading the news is that the foil hat people were actually the ones being rational after all. The plot twist that we neve...

Advanced Partitioning in Linux Mint 16?
I am curious if we will be able to configure advanced partition schemes in Linux Mint 16 like many other popular distributions. For example, I do not think you can configure LVM and LUKS to work along side a Windows install, especially, if it is encrypted. The only way I understand that this is poss...

Re: Is Linux Mint Spyware/Prism proof?
I am curious why Linux Mint is considered so bad by Prismbreak, but LMDE is not. I understand that Linux Mint is based off Ubuntu, but I do not see how Ubuntu's Amazon Ware could effect Linux Mint. I assume that it is thought that anything based off Ubuntu could have leftover unreviewed code?

Re: Linux Mint 15 - AMD fglrx Proprietary Driver installatio
Just an update and a problem. I started testing the 32bit version of MATE and one of the first things I tried to do was install the driver on the same machine and I got to the deb package part. Now I was greeted with this: depmod....... DKMS: install completed. update-initramfs: deferring update (tr...

Re: Scramdisk
Compression forces matter closer together thereby increasing conductivity? But seriously, how to scramdisk.grimdestripador wrote:I don't understand why having a compressed air intake would increase the computation flow rate of your ram.

Scramdisk
I am curious if Scramdisk is compatible with Mint 15? I have been having dependency issues when trying to install it. Any advice?

Re: Linux Mint 15 - AMD fglrx Proprietary Driver installatio
Thank you, Apolyon. I spent the better part of the day trying to install my ATI Radeon HD 5450. I had been following other tutorials and they all failed; they were not for Mint but Ubuntu. I would also like to thank everyone that contributed to this thread and those that listed their problems. Those...

Re: Mint 10 support hardware, Mint 15 not.
I have a similar hardware setup that I am trying to get to work. I am using the same graphics card and a wireless trackball m570. I absolutely must have the trackball working due to my disability, and I will need all the buttons to function to my specifications. Currently, I am running Win7 with syn...

Hello Minty Community
Hello, I'd like to start off by introducing myself. I have recently decided to ween myself off Windows permanently. I have been a rogue amateur windows techy doing odd jobs fixing Windows systems for several years, and I have decided I have had enough. I have constantly been getting emails and calls...
