Re: No sound LMDE Compaq Presario CQ62
It might ignore the driver issue since you would have been the one to remove it. From what I have read I think the Intel driver is the one you need and the problem is elsewhere. Dear Friend, One more question as to more experienced person. I had tried couple more distros with kernel-2.6.35 and ever...

Here is another question, if I delete driver from kernel and make dist-update, does it take another driver or will put sound_hda_intel back?inktitan wrote: Hopefully this can work itself out as these things sometimes do.

Ok try it this way sudo cat /var/log/messages |less if less doesn't work you can try tail. This is supposed to let you view the error reports. Of course if you really only have one message the other commands should reflect just that. Meaning your PC does not know what went wrong :(. My guess is tha...

After ages of reading forums, I met my friend who solved this problem very easy
Just Disable function in BIOS to use additional keys without Fn... It was so easy and stupid that I feel so embarrassed

Re: Wicd or Network manager.
The reason why I vote for Network Manager that I tried both on my AAO (Acer Aspire One) and Network Manager works from the box with no problem at all.
For Wicd in Gloria XFCE I change kernel from Jaunty to make Wicd works but Cardreaders don't work now and everage speed gets low
