Re: Going from Nvidia to ATI - What should I know and do?

I play the following MP games with my family + friends: AssaultCube Xonotic Left 4 Dead 2 Red Eclipse Serious Sam 3 Killing Floor Warsow DooM series For the most part - I don't intend on getting anything beyond these games - most of the other single player stuff I play are 2D and freeware from gamej...

Going from Nvidia to ATI - What should I know and do?

Hey all, On Linux Mint 17 XFCE - I am not satisfied with Nivida when gaming. I get a visual tear at the top that despite all the guides and changes that I do - Still pops up every now and then. A store near me is having a super sale on "ASUS Radeon HD 6450 Low Profile 2048MB DDR3 PCIe 2.1 Video Card...

Re: Linux Mint Gaming Guide

Any idea how to get the Baldur's Gate games working with mods, such as easyTutu and widescreen? I can get the games themselves running, either with GOG's linux downloads or Windows via POL, but getting mods to work is proving much more difficult. Never tried any of the mods. Shoot me the link to th...

Re: Game Launcher & tracker for native Linux games

Yeah, I saw that list on the QTracker website. Thats pretty cool, So you can play any of these games online even though the service is down? But are you basically connecting to a listenserver on someone's network? Or is it showing lists of dedicated servers that people are running themselves? I don...

Re: Game Launcher & tracker for native Linux games

Which games are you using this for?

Most of my loose games (not tied to a network) have some sort of way to keep track of the servers you use, favorite and share with friends.

Re: What games did you get from Steam Sale Deals?

I got free copies of CS:GO, Unepic and Crimzon Clover WORLD IGNITION Deluxe Edition. CS: GO is OK but if I am not playing it with ppl I know - it just sits there. Unepic is/was a lot of fun. I have not ended it yet but I also have very little time for long games. I made it to the Medusa headed boss....

Re: What games are you playing / are you looking forward to?

Just made the switch to linux from windows. Going "cold turkey" (no windows back-up machine). I have several games in my steam library I had completely forgot about. So I will be starting Trine, followed by Trine 2 and the Amnesia games. :D Welcome to the club :) I did that years ago - Left cold tu...

Re: Emulators & Gamepads

RetroPI does that. It gives you an OS devoted to Retro gaming all controller via a gamepad. I did that but none of my kids wanted to play it. They rather play PC (When I say PC I mean - Linux, Mac and Windows - tho we are all on Linux) Games on their rigs. There are not even into mobile games so I h...

Re: Emulators & Gamepads

Ditched RetroArch and found a ppa for Snes9xGTK and installed it instead. Set up my dualshock 3 over USB, and all is good now. I saw on Google all the DIY projects people have done with Raspberry Pi and emulators (Pitendo?), and it does look like a cool solution! Probably not powerful enough to run...

Re: Linux Mint Gaming Guide

So far, I am not that impressed with Raspberry PI. I think it it is because I was first introduced to miniPCs with an ODroid and they have more RAM and video processing power out the gate then the Raspberry PI. I was considering making a RetroPi gaming back as a project but my family is not really i...

Re: Emulators & Gamepads

I've got a PS3 controller with the USB plugged in working fine. I did install xboxdrv, but I think LM17 might even support it without anything installed! In the end I thought I'd try RetroArch via ppa. Seems to run SNES games okay, and configured the dualshock 3 buttons easy enough. I found RetroAr...

Re: Linux Mint Gaming Guide

Happy New Year! I added some images to the GoG install guide. I am going to add more to show how to make the files hidden and what the short cut making process is like - both in the GUI and by text editor. Been super swamped with family over and working on some Raspberry PI projects. Happy Gaming in...
