Keyboard layout resets on restart.

I have a keyboard that is capable of two layouts, US and PT, but defaults to PT. I've set the keyboard preferences to EN (US) in the settings. Every time I start up the system I have to go to the applet and change the layout back to EN because it defaults to PT. Is there any way to make my choice pe...

Thank you, this was what I was missing! I had no idea that the 'regular' part wasn't part of the name.

Re: WPA2 Enterprise and Ralink drivers intermittent disconnect.

Installing kernel version 4.4.0-67 appears to have solved the issue.

[SOLVED] Cinnamon panel font rendering.

I'm trying to change the font in the cinnamon panel and I've succeeded but it doesn't seem to render the same way as it does on the window titles and stuff. You can see what I mean in the screenshot (drive link), especially if you look at the time. Am I seeing things, doing something wrong or did I ...

[RESOLVED] WPA2 Enterprise and Ralink drivers intermittent disconnect.

Good evening. I have to connect to a wifi network at my school (eduroam), which I have configured manually according to my school's instructions for linux (no certificate). The issue I have is that the wifi does connect, but it keeps disconnecting every few minutes, needing me to turn the wifi off a...

Re: URLs slow to open in the browser.

Yes because I tried to see if the problem was chrome. I didn't mention it as a main browser. In fact I pointed out that I'm currently using chrome 53. I appreciate your help, but please read what I wrote.

Re: URLs slow to open in the browser.

Right. I used to do sudo until I learned better. Still don't know how it relates to opening links though. Fixing the permissions seems to have made it better but there's still a noticeable delay. Note that it doesn't happen on Windows, my laptop, or a new user account. (So I'm definitely rejecting t...

Re: URLs slow to open in the browser.

The command is still running. In the meanwhile, could you explain why the permissions were wrong? None of the files it said permission denied on seemed to have anything to do with chrome or what application opens what.

Re: URLs slow to open in the browser.

Sorry to take so long to reply. A fresh user account doesn't seem to have this problem, but I would prefer not to start fresh with a new user.

URLs slow to open in the browser.

Whenever I click a link on any application (Skype, Discord, a pdf, as long as it's not within Chrome), it takes between a few seconds to nearly half a minute for the browser to respond and open a new tab (page loading then proceeds at normal speeds). This happens with both Chrome and Firefox, which ...

1. Yes
2. No and I wouldn't see it as a solution because my system runs out of RAM pretty easily.
3. Upgrade from 17.3

Re: Linux Mint 18.0 is *AWESOME*

I love the new Mint-Y theme, especially after I downloaded a modification to make it all match the Aqua icons. I'm also a fan of how clean the X apps look. Very good for default, general use applications. Not so enthused about the stability of it, unfortunately. I've been having boot/shutdown issues...

LM18 slow boot and shutdown.

Ever since I installed LM18 I have been having problems with slow boot times and slow shutdown times. Sometimes the computer won't even shutdown at all, as was the case today. When I came back in the morning, the computer was showing a black screen and still spinning its fans. I suspect this is a pr...

Re: Unity engine game makes window decorations disappear.

What I think is very weird is that the problem started weeks after I started playing and the game is still the same (I started playing after Alpha 13 was launched so my game has never been updated). At first there were absolutely no issues and like I said sometimes the game launches without causing ...

Re: Unity engine game makes window decorations disappear.

Is there any way that I can maybe get a hint about what's causing the error? Does cinnamon have logs for this sort of thing? It would be more useful if I could present that information to the developer.

Re: Unity engine game makes window decorations disappear.

I have no idea. I don't think the game has any stable releases as it's not a fully released game yet. The current version is dubbed Alpha 13. I would report it if I knew what I was reporting. At this point I think cinnamon devs would tell me to report to the game dev and the game dev would tell me t...

Re: Unity engine game makes window decorations disappear.

Thank you for your reply. The output is here: http://pastebin.com/VuE4cXrg . I realize that the game is a beta version, but I've been playing it for about a month and the issue only started about two weeks ago. It doesn't ALWAYS cause the window borders to disappear either, just most of the time. Th...
