Re: Sound problems - LM 20.2 - crackling and stuttering.
Unfortunately I need the proprietary Nvidia Graphics driver for gaming, such that changing that out is not an option.

Re: Sound problems - LM 20.2 - crackling and stuttering.
Hello again MrEen,
Ok, this next fix resolved the stuttering sound on "Intel 100 Series/C230 Series Family HD Audio", but not on "NVIDIA GM204 High Definition Audio" which is what I'm usually watching movies through on the HDTV connected to the PC.

Re: Sound problems - LM 20.2 - crackling and stuttering.
Hello MrEen,
Ok, so that took care of the popping sound from the internal speakers of the primary monitor when the logon screen comes up. The stuttering though, is still happening.

Sound problems - LM 20.2 - crackling and stuttering.
Hello, I'm wondering if you can help me resolve sounds problems I've been having on this desktop PC. This has been happening since LinuxMint 20.0 and continues on my current version of 20.2 Cinnnamon. Though I will say the problem has improved over time, and with each release, but it still is an iss...

Re: Displayport hot plug event. Screen does not restore after powering off monitor. LM 20.1
Ok, so doing that made the login screen only use the upper left hand corner of the monitor. Logging in was the same problem as last time with only a background showing with no functionality. Had to restore the backup of xorg.conf again. The version of xorg.conf I used that resulted in what is quote...

Re: Displayport hot plug event. Screen does not restore after powering off monitor. LM 20.1
Ah, I know why that happened. Your wording in your initial post of add this section, instead of using the word replace. Now I understand. Ok, so doing that made the login screen only use the upper left hand corner of the monitor. Logging in was the same problem as last time with only a background sh...

Re: Displayport hot plug event. Screen does not restore after powering off monitor. LM 20.1
Roblm, I apologize. It did not occur to me that it was important to mention this. Replacing that information in xorg.conf unfortunately caused Linuxmint to login showing only the background and nothing else. Completely inoperable. I was able to boot from the live USB Linuxmint and restore the plain ...

Weird! That line is certainly in there with the section replaced with my user name of bruno. Which also begs the question of... If this tactic eventually works, will it not work for my other login account that I do the majority of video watching in? # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated ...

Displayport hot plug event. Screen does not restore after powering off monitor. LM 20.1
Hello, I'm trying to figure out if I can resolve an issue I have with my main desktop monitor connected via displayport. When I turn on my HDMI connected large screen TV to watch a movie, I like to power off my desktop monitor as it is not needed. The problem is that when I'm done watching the video...

Re: Nvidia proprietary graphics driver not saving settings - LM 20.1
Thank you roblm! I had no idea the procedure to do this had changed.
Are you implying that it is not necessary to write to xorg.conf?
And is this only for the Cinnamon desktop environment, or does it also apply to the Mate and KDE versions of Linuxmint?
Thanks again!

[SOLVED] Nvidia proprietary graphics driver not saving settings - LM 20.1
Hello, I'm having issues with the Nvidia proprietary graphics driver not saving my changed settings, even when saved to xorg.conf. The main issue is it thinks my secondary monitor, which is a large screen 1080p TV (HSP HSG1102) connected via HDMI is the primary monitor. And thus my actual primary mo...

Re: Nvida propriatary drivers not loading initially - Fresh install of LM 20.1 Cinnamon
Will this problem be corrected with a patch or in future LM releases? This issue relates to the timing of the loading of the Nvidia driver files in relation to when the nouveau driver files load during the boot cycle. It seems a lot more people have needed to use this workaround since the Nvidia-46...

Re: Nvida propriatary drivers not loading initially - Fresh install of LM 20.1 Cinnamon
I think your problem is similar to the one in this thread [SOLVED] NVIDIA driver failing sometimes on boot ("no hardware acceleration") . Let us know if the fix roblm recommends in the second post addresses the issue for you. This corrected my issue. Thank you so much for your help. Will ...
