Size of Xfce inflated to HDD (SSD)

I have been reading the manual a bit. The first thing I noticed that caught my eye was that the iso generally inflates to ~3Gb... yet the sys req indicates 5-6Gb. Is this due to additional repositories that MUST be d/l? I would presume patch/updates require some space. Eventually, I would have to Bu...

An LTS request

I have discovered Linux Mint and have signed up here. I have recently found two ASUS netbooks at a very reasonable price. #1 is an eeepc-8g, the real one, running linux 1Gb RAM and 8Gb SLC-SSD (holy grail of first edition eeepc's!). #2 turns out to be an eeepc 900A "Best-Buy" edition, 4Gb ...

Re: Why does cursor move erratically & erase data?

Rather, it makes for an intermittent short!, this problem has surfaced on other netbooks over the 5 years. It may well be a good vacuuming is in order. If this fails, next up is case to ground... pads, and even the SSD's in some ASUS products exhibit this in the "seashell" case (read: slim...
