Well, either that or tdockery managed to make Gnome Shell look exactly like MATE. You can choose a MATE session from the new login screen. Honest...

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Wow. Seriously hate Mint 12. Am I the only one? Top task bar is horrid, can't add shortcuts to either task bar.... I'm NOT moving myself or any of my clients to this OS unless it gets fixed big time. Just popped in here to see if anyone had gotten it to be usable (IE like Mint 10 or 11), and I don'...

Re: Any GUI app to configure samba on XFCE?

sudo apt-get install system-config-samba Be careful with SWAT. It's destructive in that it doesn't modify smb.conf it rewrites it from scratch. Make a copy of your existing smb.conf prior to it's use. I think system-config-samba is only available to ubuntu systems, not pure debian based, as is the ...

There is this thunar-shares-plugin which does exactly that and is installed by default, but doesn't work for some reason. Here are other tools you could use: ...

I just enabled the "experimental" repository and upgraded "libimobiledevice" to 1.04 then disabled the experimental again.
I think it's safer than using those exclusive Ubuntu PPA's
