Re: Touchpad to be disabled when wireless mouse attached
While you are an expert well versed in these details, I am an ordinary user. I can understand what you are saying. I still think that it is for those in the development team to look at such problems experienced by users and decide further course of action. If nothing can be done it may be best to re...

Re: Touchpad to be disabled when wireless mouse attached
I agree with what you say about typing text. I have not yet tried different speeds of typing to confirm your explanation. I feel when I do, it will confirm your explanation. But what would justify the touchpad remaining active after one selects the option "Disable touchpad when a mouse is attac...

Re: Touchpad to be disabled when wireless mouse attached
With your suggestion, I am able to work along getting over the problem. But I will still wait for someone from the developers team to respond to my query: "But I am still wondering whether the failure of the application which is meant to control these options displayed in Mint Cinnamon, has dra...

Re: Touchpad to be disabled when wireless mouse attached
Thank you very much to suggest a way out. I have added custom shortcuts under System Settings-Keyboard-Shortcuts for "Disable Touchpad" and "Enable Touchpad". And now I manually use these shortcuts when I need them. While typing a document, these shortcuts come in very handy. Tha...

Re: Touchpad to be disabled when wireless mouse attached
Many thanks. I will certainly try it.
But it will be interesting to know if this problem is experienced on Mint Cinnamon by others too, or is it limited on account of something specific in only some laptops ( I use HP 250 G5 notebook).

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 'Tricia' What are your First Impressions?
I just 'upgraded' from Mint 19.2 to 19.3, Cinnamon 2 days ago, using the automatic upgrade option. The upgrade went smooth without any hitch. In the release notes and new features, I read that 19.3 is supposed to have Celluloid for multimedia player, but my system still has Xplayer as the default an...

Re: Input Method not working correctly
I have Mint 19.2 Cinnamon, fully updated. When I switch to 'INDIAN' keyboard, no key works in the default text editor (I believe it is Edx). Keys also do not work in file manager. All keys work properly when I am in Libre office. Anyone having a solution?

Re: INSCRIPT keyboard for Hindi
No, this did not help. I still have not been able to find out how to get the standard INSCRIPT keyboard working (on Mint 18.2 now). For typing in a n umber of Indian languages, more particularly in Hindi, Inscript is the accepted standard in India. There were earlier many keyboards under various oth...

Re: Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64 bit File Browser 'Search' problem
I am sorry for a long break. I started afresh and created a new 'test' user once again. This time I copied to it just the .config directory of my user account, since I knew that was causing the problem. On checking 'test' it was confirmed that the test account too had developed the search problem. T...
