Re: Firefox 3.0 to 3.5

After un-installing 3.0, I had to start 3.5 in terminal. Previous settings were imported, and, so far, everything seems to be working. Thanks for your help

[SOLVED] Firefox 3.0 to 3.5

I was trying to upgrade Firefox from 3.0 to the most recent version in Synaptic. I noticed that 3.5 is installed (see below), but when I open FF and check the version, it says 3.0.17. It seems to me that I should remove the 3.0 versions in Synaptic, but I'm not sure and that makes me nervous. Is thi...

What Happened to my Music?

I haven't seen a good solution for putting mp3 files on my iphone, so I put the mp3s on an external disc, logged into Windows and pointed itunes to the directory on the external drive. Itunes only finds/acknowledges about 1/4 of the mp3 files. Does anyone know how to fix this, or, ideally, know of a...

Re: Cannot burn .isol to useable DVDs

I'm not shooting for a collection of images. I want to turn my movie MPGs into movie DVDs. A data DVD doesn't seem to fit the bill here.

Cannot burn .iso to useable DVDs

I have some MPGs I turned into .iso with Devede, then tried to burn them to DVDs with Brasero and K3B. When I put the discs into my DVD player, it tells me the disc is unreadable. Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

Re: How do I unrestrict files

It seems that I would have to do this for each file, is that correct? There are hundreds of files, is there a way I can do this to the entire library to save time?

[SOLVED] How do I unrestrict files

A while back I had to recover some music from mp3 discs--not regular CDs--and I recently realized those files are restricted. My media players can access them, but when I try to put them on a new CD they do not write (and I waste a disc). How can I un-restrict the files?

Re: A couple problems since upgrade to Mint 7

I noticed that when I go to sites that rely heavily on flash, like Pandora, my CPU usage maxes out, and web surfing crawls along until I close the tab for that site. Is it possible this and my sound problem are related in some way?

Re: Packages kept back from update?

Thanks, that upgraded some things. It also raises a few questions. 1) What is the difference between apt-get and aptitude? 2) What is the difference between upgrade and safe-upgrade? 3) How do I upgrade the open-office packages? Maybe I can't? I got this after safe-upgrading... The following package...

Re: Packages kept back from update?

How do I force the upgrade? I thought that using sudo upgrade would force it...but I guess not.
