Re: Get root access and move /home

I would say get rid of the first one by putting a # in front of it. Alright that worked ! :) Now for the second thing. How do I change/move the default folder path of the user folders; Downloads, Music, Videos & Documents to my DATA HDD? I just create Bookmarks in the file manager for the folders I...

Re: Get root access and move /home

Re: Get root access and move /home

You can just save all your personal data on the other partition, it does not have to be "/home". But if you really want a different partition to be used as /home, there are several things you have to do: Create a directory on that partition named "luuk89" Copy (or move) all of your hidden folders a...

Re: Get root access and move /home

So now for my last question. I just formatted my 2TB HDD to EXT4, created a DATA folder (/home/luuk89/DATA), changed the mount point (/home/luuk89/DATA) and run the sudo chown -R command to become owner. Al my files are currently backupped on an external HDD and a laptop. Now I first want to move th...

Where you want to have your second disk available; that's the question you have to answer in "Mount Point". And again, y...

I installed linux mint on SSD1 over my old windows installation. SSD2 I left unformatted, and my HDD is still NTFS. - I just formatted SSD2 to EXT4 with gpa...
