Re: lm21.3 cin - remove title bar on a single window
I've found an answer: the extension "Cinnamon-Maximus" removes window decorations. I enabled "Use auto undecorating for apps" and entered 'dclock' into the text box. I also enabled "Use hotkey to ... current window" (<super>+u) to selectively remove decorations from wi...

[SOLVED] lm21.3 cin - remove title bar on a single window
I often run applications maximized; in this case the taskbar is hidden and I can't see the calendar/clock. For this reason I installed dclock and invoke it in a bash script: dclock -led_off "#171717" -miltime -nodateup -geometry 120x45 -fg green -bg black -fade > /dev/null 2>&1 & d...

[solved] How to set default account for new emails in Evolution?
I just migrated from Thunderbird to Evolution. Finally got around to it. I have three POP email accounts. When I create a new email, the FROM address is automatically set alphabetically to the first account. But I use that account only rarely. How do I set it so that by default emails are "From...

[solved] lm21.3 cin Evolution new install: other accounts disappeared from mail sidebar
I am painfully moving from Thunderbird to Evolution. I have three gmail accounts, all set to POP input and SMPT output. All three are properly set up and working in Evolution. After installation all three accounts appeared in the left-hand Mail sidebar. I have to copy emails folder by folder, draggi...

Re: lm21.3 cin unable to install zoom due to missing packages
Thank you.
Unchecking the box was all I had to do; then I was able to install libxcb-cursor0 using synaptic.
After that, Zoom installed without a hitch.

SOLVED lm21.3
i just used up 2.1gb of my precious and expensive bandwidth here in Sri Lanka downloading lm21.3 iso from one of the USA sites. Re: lm21.2 cinn: Nemo 5.8.5 Inconsistent vertical spacing in conmpact view
I'm not talking about icon size. I'm talking about vertical spacing. No amount of ctrl-wheel scrolling makes the offending folder look like the other. Nemo > Edit > Preferences > Views "[x] Inherit view type.." has no effect, checked or unchecked. The "Documents" folder is the on...

lm21.2 Cinn Alarm-Clock-Applet: Add custom command to "Start Application" list
I am glad that alarm-clock-applet has returned to Linuxmint 21. Is there any way to add a custom command to the 'Start Application" dropdown? In that way I don't have to type the full path of a my custom bash script that 1. rings a bell 2. shows a system notification 3. pops uip a zenity modal ...

Re: SOLVED (update) LM21.2 After latest kernel update I'm getting startup errors in bash
Sorry, folks.
Somehow I had appended a single quote ( ' ) to the end of the preceding line. i don't remember editing .bashrc, but there you are. I removed the character, and the problem disappeared.
NOT A KERNEL PROBLEM.
as usual, it was a short between the earphones.

Re: LM21.2 After latest kernel update I'm getting startup errors in bash
Thanks, Mike. Yes, I know I could comment out the line. Aas far as I can tell it has never executed. Yet, it looks like a good idea, to warn about stuck or hung bash jobs. Has this line ever worked? I'm writing this reply on my laptop running mint 21.1; no bash error. Why should I comment it out in ...

Re: LM 21-2 cinn How do I get 'cal' to start week on Monday, not Sunday
Thanks. But what about
The vertical format takes a bit of getting used to. I have to study it, instead of glancing at it, like I do with other calendars.
cal -M

SOLVED LM 21-2 cinn How do I get 'cal' to start week on Monday, not Sunday
Another site, Stack Overflow I think it was, says the -M option is not supported in all Linux versions. Can I download a previous version of cal that supports the command cal -M -b ? If so, where do i find it? Or is there a comparable terminal command that prints the simple calendar? -Thanks -Sadhu
