Re: HDMI Switch display detection fails

If anyones interested: I did some more research and came upon the EDID stuff (display sending information about itself to the system). Apparently the hdmi switch sends corrupted edid information (at least in comparison to "proper" info from my display it seems corrupted). Although there are ways to ...

[Abandonded] HDMI Switch display detection fails

Hello everyone, I got myself a HDMI switch hoping to eventually have several devices connect to one display and I can just cycle through them. For now I wanted to connect two Linux Mint machines but neither was able to properly detect or use the display on the other end of the switch. Here's the set...

Re: Linux Mint 19 codenamed “Tara”

Alright guys, thanks for all the great answers! :) I guess I'll continue to wait for the full 19 release. I just kinda hoped an upgrade path might mean something more than the usual "You can certainly try." we have after each major release. It would've made it easier for me. Also, thanks for pointin...

Re: Synaptics touchpad, disable RT- & RBCornerButton on boot

Heya roblm, thanks for the reply! I didn't knew there was another file already containing the necessary Sections and such but sadly it didn't work there either. Interestingly the file mentions: # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE, your distribution will likely overwrite # it when updating. Copy (and rename) thi...

Synaptics touchpad, disable RT- & RBCornerButton on boot

Hello everyone, I started to use Linux Mint (16, Cinnamon) on my laptop and my touchpad (which I didn't even knew can do this) now simulates the middle mouse button with a tap on its right-top corner and right mouse button with a tap on its right-bottom corner. I'd like to deactivate both by default...
