Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all,

I have managed to go over 1,000,000 points per day for two days running. I never thought that this GTX 1070 ftw would ever manage that very high score.

Long may it continue

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all,

I am currently running Mint 18.3 with the Mate desktop. Would there be any improvement to my points being scored if I switched to the latest XFCE 19.3 as it is reported to be lighter on resources.

Re: (not yet completely SOLVED) - '4k Video Downloader' does not start.

Chriske, The file I sent you was 4kvideodownloader 4.9.2-1 deb. You can find the same file on the site that you gave a link to. I do not know what version you have loaded, but if it is NOT this one then you need to remove it BEFORE you download the new file. Go the Menu icon at the top left of your ...

Re: (SOLVED) - '4k Video Downloader' does not start.

Chriske,

I had the same advice, but I am going to hold onto 18.3 for a few months more before I upgrade to 19.3

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all,

I have managed to pick up a few FahCore 0x22 units over the past couple of days, and that has pushed the daily points up.

Re: '4k Video Downloader' does not start.

Chriske Is it possible to completely remove that newest version and install an older one..? I uninstalled it from the mate Menu. It was the top item in my Menu. Right click it and uninstall. I am using 4.9.2.3082. I have a copy of it in my Download folder, but I do not know how to send it to you. Be...

Re: '4k Video Downloader' does not start.

Hi,

I downloaded it a few days ago and it does not launch, so I removed and went back to the older version.

If you open it in a terminal it shows a few errors concerning GLIBC.

I am on Mint Mate 18.3 64 bit and I think I will make a new install when the 19.3 version comes out

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

Charlie, IF we leave the EU without a deal perhaps that will be the case. Personally, I voted leave, but have already voted Labour for this current election. Never trust a Tory. Top if you voted leave why are you voting to stay by voting Labour. You say you have voted, I did not think that the vote ...

gluonpaul

I am running Mate 64 bit. I simply went to Menu/Control Centre/Drive Manager and selected the recommended driver.

Hope that helps you a bit.

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, since I managed to ruin my Mint 19.2 installation a week ago, the protein folding seems to be slower. I am currently running Mint 18.3 Mate 64 bit. I have looked at the stats page a few times and we are not making much, if any progress up the leader board. We are still stuck at 90. I have de...

Re: Timeshift re-install from USB pen drive

Hi gm10, the live usb pen drive I booted from was Mint 19 Mate 64 bit. I do not have that on the pen drive any more as I formatted it and put Mint 18.3 Mate 64 bit on it. I did this so that I could get the computer up and running. I have put Mint 19 Mate 64 bit onto a stick. Booted the computer from...

Re: Timeshift re-install from USB pen drive

Gm10, I will try and use the correct terminology in the hope that I will be able to receive a meaningful reply. I created 2 snapshots onto a usb stick using Timeshift. I damaged my installation of Mint 19.2 Mate I booted from a live usb pen drive, with my usb stick (with the 2 snapshots on) inserted...

Timeshift re-install from USB pen drive

Hi all, yesterday I decided to make my first Timeshift image. I set it up as I thought and then used create to put an image onto my USB pen drive. I checked the pen drive and there was an image. An hour later I made another image. I again checked the pen drive and I now had 2 images. Great I thought...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi greerd, No I do not install from outside ppa,s. I used /menu/system tools/system monitor and wrote it down from there. The driver I must have installed from the driver option. Yesterday I made my first "timeshift" image and put it on a USB pen drive. I thought that all I had to do was to plug in ...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi battlenut,

I am running

kernel 4.15.0-64201910022001

Nvidia driver 430.26-0ubuntu0.18.04.2

If I can't get it running I might try to install Mint 19 Mate, and see if I can get it running in that.

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, Yesterday I managed to destroy my Mint 19.2 Mate. I have re-installed it and everything is running ok except my Folding at Home. It launches alright but then throws an error. I have purged folding 3 times and re-installed but with the same result. I am unable to get folding to run. It downlo...
