Re: USB TV Tuner

this is from a previous post for those who are still looking for a USB TV tuner that just works in Linux. I went here http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_292e.html PCTV tripleStick HD 292e TV Tuner Click on the Linux tab. Linux support for the PCTV 292e is in kernel 3.16. Click on the link...

Re: gpu fan speed control linux nvidia wont stick

Offir, I do not have your set up so my advice might well be useless to you. In your picture it says “speed RPM” unsupported. If that is true then you will not be able to alter the fan speed. I made a small script file that I put into a folder in my home directory named bin (small b) #! /bin/bash # t...

Hi all,

I have just seen on TV that the problem still exists, even after the old TV was removed.

Re: HPLIP - Known Issue to add to Mint 20 release notes pages

I have ippusbxd installed. The only thing that I have done is to install python-gtk2_2.24.0-6_amd64.deb. I had to install that to get a program to run. I do not know if that effects anything. When I first tried to print a test page through Hplip it said that I needed a plugin. I asked it to download...

Re: Linux mint not shutting down with NVidia GeForce GTX1070

Post by KingTChoka , I am running Cinnamon 20, and from my Menu I simply go to Control panel/System setting and at the bottom of the screen is Driver Manager. When I open Driver Manager it updates Cache. The top of the list is Nvidia-Driver-440 recommended. It is not the server one that shows at the...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

r-miller96. For the past 4 days all of my work units have been small. I am down from 1000,000 points per day to 800,000 points a day. It is just the way it is. Hopefully all of our competitors are all getting the same type of units so that we do not fall further behind them. I have just started a 14...

mr_raider I am using a EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 ftw, and using the 440 drivers ajgringo619 from an earlier post I have looked in the F&H forums and it seems to be an issue that is effecting a lot of people. Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

ajgringo619 I am using Fahclient 7.6.13 and Fahcontrol 7.6.13-1. I have not changed anything on the computer at all, so any problems would appear to be from their end. Jeff13 I have NOT installed any Grub2 updates, so there is little point in restoring a Timeshift or Grsync. Nothing to my knowledge...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, I spoke too soon when I said that folding was going well. My folding stopped about 3 o'clock yesterday morning and has not worked since (40 odd hours) In the log file it has the following, 15:52:57: OpenCL: Not detected: Failed to open dynamic library 'libOpenCL.so': 15:52:57: libOpenCL.so: ...

Re: I can't change the speed of all fans

aquerra, I built my current PC a short time ago, and I fitted it with water cooling. When I assembled the bottom fans and radiator I found that I was unable to get to the fan headers as they were now covered by the radiator. I decided to fit one of these http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Lamptron-CP...

abb I am still not sure if you have downloaded the hplip.gui??. If you have and if you have asked it to print a test page then it would tell you that you need a plugin. Download it and it will work. In my /usb/share/hplip/print/plugins I have 4 entries. They are hbpl1.so hbpl1-x86_64.so lj.so lj-x86...

Re: problems in printing on hp laserjet p1102 with hplip 3.20.6 and linux mint 19 xfce

abb, I have a printer the same as yours. To get it to print I downloaded Hplip GUI. Open Hplip GUI and ask it to print a test page. It will say that you need to get a driver for it. Follow the prompts and install the driver. Reboot your computer and open Hplip GUI and ask it to print a test page and...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi berndinger, I have finally managed to get folding at home running in Mint Cinnamon 20. Read and accept it's solution) 2. wget ht...

Hi all, thank you to all who replied. As I said earlier this was a new install of Mate 18.3. I have applied all of the updates and all seems to be well thank yo...

Re: 228 updates available

Hi cliffcoggin, many thanks for your reply. Over the past few weeks I have played around with Mate20. I had a lot of problems with it so I decided to go back to my 18.3 which was on another drive. Sad to say I managed to mess up the 18.3 install so basically I started all over again and installed 18...
