Re: Edit smb.conf

The file you need to edit is the one in /etc/samba/
The one in /usr/share/samba/ is an example configuration file.

Re: video converter for Mint

I've always found HandBrakeCLI to be a good program for converting DVDs, DVD folders or videofiles into avi or mp4.

Re: How did you all discover Linux ?

Two things really. I am way too curious, and bad luck... No kidding? I saw a slackware 4-disc box in a local computer store in '95, and my curiosity got the better of me. Just think about all that time I could have used for drinking and smashing up bars instead... :P Now I used it peaceful in...

Re: Install Windows AFTER Mint for Dual Boot....possible?

There is also the possibility to use the windows boot loader to boot into grub/linux. There is a guide I used a couple of years ago, not sure where I put it though. Thanks for the welcome. @dawgdoc, How could you guess about Rowling? :D @tdockery97, It's true I've been using Mint for a while, but I still learn something new from time to time. I will try to help where I can though. @oscar799, Oh, I already have fun. Think of all those hours used for something us...

It's about time I introduce myself...

OK. Not that I have anything that interesting to reveal :) I've been using Linux since about '98. It's around that time I started to fool around with Mandrake, although I already tried out Slackware back in '95. At that time however I hadn't used a PC for more than a couple of month, and couldn't se...
