The problem is possibly caused bij ttf-msfontinstaller.
I removed the ttf-msfontinstaller (and because of error also virtualbox extensionpack)
then reinstalled ttf-mscorefontinstaller and repeated the GIF 'movie' above.
This time it works as it should.
probably a bent byte somewhere ??
