Re: Black screen with mouse cursor after grub boot-up

Yes I think this is a video issue, it's why I posted the log.
I have a USB stick with Mint 16 working fine.
I don't understand why I have this issue as I didn't change anything on the video, strange.

So what can I do?

Black screen with mouse cursor after grub boot-up

Hello everybody, I hope this is the good place for my issue. 2 days ago, I was browsing then my laptop frezze. I had to push the on/off button to switch it off. Then when I started it again, I had the "famous" black screen with only the mouse cursor visible. Yesterday I spent the full day ...

Re: Volume control output device flickering or changes

Today 07 June 2014, I installed Fedora 20 Mate and tested audio.

Audio is perfect no glitch, volume slider jump, no bug !!!!!

So, this is a bug with Ubuntu based OS and people here don't care.

So I say good bye to Mint.

Readers, if you get the same, you know the solution.

Re: How to get a fix for a 2 years old bug

Thank you Previous1 for your interest in my issue. I saw this post 56 but I thought it was for technical reference (this is an automated message). If this is a patch I can use, I don't have any clue how and where to install it. I explained to Raymond my technical level and was expecting an easy way ...

I did you code but still the same, flickering every few seconds.
I installed kernel 2.6.39 it is stable with it.

I'll try to install kernel between the both and see which one fail.
