[URGENT!] GTK+ crashes
I have a backup of all my GTK+ themes from the last Linux Mint 16 installation. I decided to copy them to the themes folder of LMDE just to save time from downloading all over again. This is where things went wrong. After changing a control theme to one of my backed up themes, nemo exited, the scree...

Re: Which updates should I install?
Got it! Seems like there is no certainty in Linux updating, even if the updates are ranked as trustworthy (1 to 3)
Thank you, I should be more cautious from now on

Which updates should I install?
So, after installing Linux Mint 16, the update manager lists out around 180 or so updates for my OS, ranking from level 1 to 3. Usually, I would choose the option "select all" and install everything that's offered. However, it seems not to be a good idea because just an hour ago, I have ha...

Re: [URGENT] Can't boot after running Bleachbit
Like karlen said, I did run Bleachbit as root, since I thought that way I could get "the most of it". Apparently it was a totally wrong decision
. Thank you all for your support, now I should be off to reinstall yet again...

[URGENT] Can't boot after running Bleachbit
... And it's not the first time. So, in the time span of only 1 day, I've had to reinstall Linux Mint 16 twice. All because of running that little dangerous software called Bleachbit . After installing the OS (with partitions setup manually, the 1st time without a boot partition, the 2nd time there ...

Home partition. What does it do?
So, my question is basically as the title says. Just yesterday, I decided to reinstall Linux Mint, and had asked a few questions about disk partitioning here http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=154730 . Unfortunately, after wiping out nearly 1GB of what I thought was obsolete data u...

Re: Need help with installing Mint on a MBR disk
Thank you all very much. I have successfully installed Linux Mint following usbtux's 2 helpful videos (Please accept my apology for not carefully watching your instruction). Now looking back at when I couldn't configure the partitions, I assume the reason was that I tried to make all of them primary...

[Solved] Need help with installing Mint on a MBR disk
Hello everyone, I am a new user of Linux Mint. When I first installed it, I used the easiest installation method which is "install linux mint alongside windows 7" and dragged the appropriate disk space available for it, which was 15Gb. After some time playing around with Linux Mint, I find...

Icons folder deleted; Shift + Numpad strangely assigned;
Hi everyone, I'm a new Linux Mint user, but not totally new to Linux. I have had Ubuntu installed a week ago, but I tweaked it so heavily that it booted even slower than my Windows 7. Therefore I have made a decision to switch over to Linux Mint 16, since it has cinnamon DE installed by default. Bef...
