Re: mint 19.1 does not fix AMD graphics issue of 19

I've got the same problem on my Mint 19 (Tara) Xfce hard drives which are in my two desktop tower computers. One desktop tower has an AMD graphics card in it and the second desktop tower has an Nvidia graphics card. Right before the Desktop loads, it shows some weird colors when I start up both of t...

Re: Teamviewer 14 - Login Problem on LM 18.3

Just a heads up. Teamviewer 14.0.14470 just came up in my Update Manager. I left clicked on it to remove the check mark. That highlighted it so I right clicked on it and when the context menu appeared, I left clicked "ignore packages". I don't trust TV 14 since it didn't work between my computer and...

Re: Usernames

My username comes from the 1977 movie about "bats" and it is titled, "NightWing". At the time I couldn't find a decent colored bat avatar so I chose another animal that hunts at night which is a barn owl. I can't show my avatar since I don't use third party photo storage sites and this Mint forum si...

Re: Teamviewer not found in Software Manager

When you install Mint, TV is not found in the Update Manager. You have to go to the TV site, download the correct bit .deb tar ball and then install it. I install mine using Gdebi Package Installer. Once TV has been installed in Mint, it is listed in "Internet" in the Mint menu. From then on the upd...

Re: Teamviewer 14 - Login Problem on LM 18.3

I had the same problem. I'm using Mint 19. I couldn't connect to my sister-in-law's computer via TV 14. I was running a version of TV 13 before the update. TV 14 was updated through the Update Manager. I went to the TV site and on the TV site, TV 14 is listed as a Preview which is a beta to me. Afte...

Re: Anything to replace Flash yet?

I'm an avid outdoors person. Lots of sites I visit everyday still use Flash. I think this one below in the link uses Flash. It is a streaming webcam for a 24/7 fishing pier on the upper Texas coast. Just google another webcam for the same pier? First google result, needs no flash: http://www.61stpi...

Hello friends 1. In Linuxmint 18 Cinnamon, I always make my panel invisible by editing the file: /usr/share/themes/Linux Mint/cinnamon/cinnamon.css .panel-top, .panel-bottom { background-gradient-direction: vertical; background-gradient-start: rgba(0,0,0,0); background-gradient-end: rgba(0,0,0,0); ...

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

I've got a few hobbies. My favorite hobby has to do with standup paddleboarding (SUP) in its various forms of flat water paddling, coastal cruising and surfing the waves down on the Texas coast. I have two sup boards, but my favorite one is custom made 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 liters. Since this boa...

"WarGames" has always been my favorite computer movie. Seems appropriate with all of the computer hacking which is running rampant in this day and age.

Re: Be more active in life..not just computer science

I'm 68. I learned to surf waves when I was 15 years old. Now at 68 year old, I've given up surfing the waves with a prone surf board and went to a standup up paddleboard (sup) where I partake in flat water paddling sessions, coastal cruising on the upper Texas coast and sup surfing the waves on the ...

I own 4 computers (2 desktop towers, 2 laptops). I use 64 bit linux Mint 19 (Tara) Xfce on all 4 computes. Mint 19 works great on all of my 4 computers. I also use linux Teamviewer with all of my 4 computers. TV works without any problems for me. Easy to download from the TV site and after it is ins...

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

I ran across some symphonic metal which is the prevalent sound from some European groups. One is the european group, Within Tempation with their lead singer, Sharon den Adel.

Within Tempation - "Shot In The Dark".

Linux Firefox 52.0 ESR is very old since it came out in March of 2017 if my memory serves me correctly. It may play in Mint but it may not play nice with some websites since the newest linux ESR version is linux Firefox 52.9.0 ESR.

Re: IOT may be the next security issue.

I won't use anything which is going to have IoT in it (refrigerator). If it does, say like in a vehicle, I will disable it...............Permanently. If it can't be disabled permanently as in said vehicle, then I won't purchase the vehicle.

Since I was changing out the fin configuration of my standup paddleboard (sup) in my garage yesterday afternoon, I took my laptop out my garage to listen to some music while I worked on my sup. The song below is in my music folder and I like this one a lot. The lead singer, John Cafferty has a voice...

Thanks for the tip. I'm another one who liked seeing the Levels in 18.3 and I don't care for the Shield/Arrows default look in 19. I'm glad to see I can now get the Levels back in 19.

Again, thanks.
