Re: Failed To Fetch Firefox 80.0.1

Howdy folks. Both packages.linuxmint.com servers are back up now. That should solve this issue for all. Thanks for the update on the server issue. After reading your comments, I turned on all four of my computers this morning and installed the Firefox 80.0.1 update on all of them. Again, thanks for...

Re: Failed To Fetch Firefox 80.0.1

The way I see it, since Firefox is my backup browser for Mint 20, if the server for 80.0.1 is still not functioning properly by this upcoming Tuesday (9-15), I will just ignore this update and wait for Firefox 81.0 which will be released by Mozilla for Windows on 9-22-2020 and the linux version for ...

Re: Failed To Fetch Fireox 80.0.1

I think maybe one of our repository servers has a problem. To those having the problem, can you please confirm: 1. that you can browse the Firefox packages in the repository through this link: http://68.235.39.11/pool/upstream/f/firefox 2. and if that works can you confirm that trying the same thro...

Re: Failed To Fetch Fireox 80.0.1

Maybe it is a temporary issue with the mirror you are using? If you click Refresh does it refresh or give an error message? I clicked on Refresh and after putting in my password for authentication, I received the same error prompt. Looks like I'll have to just wait and see what happens. As a side n...

Failed To Fetch Firefox 80.0.1

I've got four computers. This Sunday morning I noticed I had an update for 64 bit linux Firefox 80.0.1, but after putting in my password, Firefox will not download. It says an error has occurred and the error code is below. W: Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/upstream/f/firefox/-fi...

When I installed Anydesk, I had the same problem of it starting upon boot. I stopped this from happening by using the terminal with this command.

Code: Select all

Re: LM 20.0 an utter disaster on less than latest hardware.

I have 4 computers (2 desktop towers, 2 laptops). The oldest computer is this 2010 year model HP 170-T desktop tower computer which I'm typing this post with. It has an old Intel i7 processor in it with a processor speed of 2.80, 16 GB of memory, an AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card, an ancient Sound...

Re: LM 20 Aisleriot installed but not in menu

I have Aisleriot (Solitaire) installed on all four of my computers using 64 bit Linux Mint 20 (Ulyana) Xfce. But I installed Aisleriot using the Synaptic Package Manager instead of the Software Manager. And Aisleriot is listed under Games in the Mint Menu in both the Whisker Menu and also in the old...

I use the Ekoru search engine. Since I came from the maritime industry, Ekoru raises funds for the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup. And Ekoru doesn't store your data. If you want to check it out, the link to it is below.

Before Brian Johnson was the lead vocalist for AC/DC, he was with the band named, Geordie and he was their lead vocalist. And if you're familiar with AC/DC, then you'll instantly recognize Brian's voice.

I've been using windows Pale Moon in Windows 7 since 2011. I find it more customizable out of the box without any coding manipulation. When linux Pale Moon was publicly released in January of 2014, this is when I began using Pale Moon in Mint. I too have a lot of bookmarks and I keep many of them in...

Re: HardInfo will not uninstall

@ mikejp56 Well, I decided to uninstall "hardinfo" (System Profiler and Benchmark) using the the Synaptic Package Manager and it uninstalled. Since it was uninstalled, it was no longer listed under System. Then I decided to re-install "hardinfo", again with it's non geek name of System Profiler and ...

Re: HardInfo will not uninstall

I have "hardinfo" installed in 64 bit Mint 19.3 (Tricia) Xfce. I never use the terminal to install things. I only use the terminal when forced to. Instead, I installed "hardinfo" using the Synaptic Package Manager and which is (System Profiler and Benchmark) under Systems and it is listed and works.

Working on my four standup paddleboards in my garage because of being cooped up in the house by the COVID-19 situation in my country, I needed some background music while I worked on my boards.

Re: So which are the 'best' browsers for 2020 (according to you)?

In 64 bit linux Mint, I started to use 64 bit linux Pale Moon as my default browser when it was released in January of 2014 and still do today. Works well for me and is much more customizable out of the box than Firefox. I don't use a lot of addons/extensions with Pale Moon. The only two extensions ...
