Re: Xfburn Not Installed By Default In Mint 19 (Tara)

I have 4 computers (2 desktop towers, 2 laptops) and all 4 of them have DVD drives. :D

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

Since I was changing out the fin configuration of my standup paddleboard (sup) in my garage yesterday afternoon, I took my laptop out my garage to listen to some music while I worked on my sup. The song below is in my music folder and I like this one a lot. The lead singer, John Cafferty has a voice...

Thanks for the tip. I'm another one who liked seeing the Levels in 18.3 and I don't care for the Shield/Arrows default look in 19. I'm glad to see I can now get the Levels back in 19.

Again, thanks.

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19

Surely timeshift should be optional for those users that already have backup/restore procedures in-place? When you installed Mint 19, if you didn't want Timeshift, all you had to do was to open your Update Manager, left click on Edit, then left click on Preferences, then under Interface, UNCHECK th...

Re: Mint 19 xfce 64 bit Graphics issue?

@ catfish2018 I'm hoping when Mint 19.1 is released in December of 2018 or January of 2019, it won't have this bug of showing some weird colors and/or briefly showing my desktop photo all scrambled right before reaching the Desktop. I took a gamble this afternoon and installed Mint 19 Xfce on my wif...

Re: Is Linux Mint ugly?

I'm one of those who dislikes the new default Mint-Y. As soon as I saw what the Mint-Y looked like on the live DVD, I immediately went to Appearance and was hoping the old Mint-X was still available in Xfce. It was much to my relief. And that was the first thing I changed when I finally got to my De...

Re: Mint 19 xfce 64 bit Graphics issue?

I don't think a fix for this bug will come along for Mint 19 Xfce. I'm hoping when Mint 19.1 is released in late December of 2018 or early January of 2019, this erase/format bug won't be in Mint 19.1 Xfce. But, I've got a solution already planned just in case Mint 19.1 Xfce has the same erase/format...

Re: Mint 19 xfce 64 bit Graphics issue?

I don't think this is an open source graphic driver issue. When I loaded up Mint 19, right before getting to the Desktop on both the live DVD and during the Install, it shows the previous custom Desktop image from my Pictures folder from Mint (18.3). If Mint 19 erases/formats the disk, it shouldn't ...

Re: Xfburn Not Installed By Default In Mint 19 (Tara)

I've noticed many of the newer laptops of today don't have optical drives. I've got 4 computers (2 desktop towers, 2 laptops) and the all of my computers have optical drives. Of course, my computers are older than most peoples. The oldest is a 2010 year model and the newest is a 2013 year model. I p...

Re: Xfburn Not Installed By Default In Mint 19 (Tara)

I know in Mint 18.3 Xfburn was listed in the Mint menu under Multimedia. I thought it was odd it was not listed in Mint 19. Since I didn't see it anywhere, I immediately went to the Synaptic Package Installer, did a search for it and found it. Then I installed it so it shows up in my Mint 19 menu un...

Xfburn Not Installed By Default In Mint 19 (Tara)

Maybe it's me and I somehow missed it in the Release Notes, but Xfburn is not installed by default in Mint 19 (Tara). Could someone who has Mint 19 installed, would you check and see if Xfburn is listed under Multimedia and give a reply back?

Re: Timeshift wants 1.3T or more to backup

From what I've here about Timeshift and at another forum, Timeshift is "not" instilling confidence in me. Those Automatic Updates looks like they will install newer kernels too. That is not what I want. I read previous comments how some people were updating their kernels for security reasons and the...

Re: Mint 19 beta Xfce = I need to install browsers and Viber

I think that green download button on the right side of the page on the original link is for 32 bit SeaMonkey. You need to make sure you download the right bit SeaMonkey since SM comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. I have been using the 64 bit build of SeaMonkey (my backup browser) since 2012 ...

Re: An experience with Timeshift and the space it uses

Timeshift does not seem to actually delete the files off of the drive/partition. Apparently, it is just deleting links and leaving the files in place. I've never used Timeshift. I hope this isn't the way Timeshift is supposed to act upon a deletion of an old snapshot of a system because Timeshift w...

Re: Gdebi Package Installer

Karl Thanks for your explanation. Per your advice, I'll check it out. I hope when Mint 19 (Tara) in Xfce is released, Gdebi will be listed in the Applications Menu and the Whisker Menu like it was in previous versions of Mint. If Gdebi isn't listed, then I'll have to go into my Synaptic Package Mana...

Gdebi Package Installer

At one time, the Gdebi Package Installer was installed by default "and" listed in the old Applications Menu as well as with the Whisker Menu. I install third party .deb packages and I use Gdebi. In Mint 18.3, the Gdebi Package Installer is installed by default in Mint 18.3, but it is "not" listed in...
