Hi AZgl1500, Do you have any further information about that mailbox? Sounds like that might be...

Re: Linux Mint 19 “Tara” MATE – BETA Release

@Mattyboy Thank you for that information, and for supporting Mint 8) I did not find an actual solution. I reinstalled and left the default .iso's graphic driver as is--and it is now running great, looks good, and suspend works without a hitch. It was a fairly fresh install with few customizations so...

Re: Where I can send feedback about Mint 19 Tara beta?

+1 the cw is right--always say which desktop you are using (such as Cinnamon, Xfce, MATE) You will always get better help by doing this. Better yet is open a terminal and enter the system inquiry code: inxi -Fxz Copy the entire results. This will not reveal personal information--but only an overview...

Re: Booting without going into the BIOS

I've read many comments that is not recommended to install a different desktop environment and those comments are accurate and especially so with such limited resources--and with no pre-desktop monitor this is not recommended -- don't go there. My best thoughts for you is a screen replacement, or p...

Re: Monitor only works for 1 second after startup, then turns to black screen

This perhaps means your monitor is failing the post (power on self test), after detecting an error or overload condition shut-down is initiated to prevent further damage to circuitry and alleviate fire hazard

Re: Cant run sudo apt-get update command

Just open 'Software Scources'/PPAs and temporarily deselect all the added PPAs
Then do your updates:
apt update
After your Mint updates you can reselect the PPAs one by one to find the offender.

Perhaps this is the last little niggle to be expelled.
I was wrong---another more serious problem has reared it's ugly head. See:

Re: Linux Mint 19 “Tara” MATE – BETA Release

I came across another niggle with Tara Mate. The out of the box video driver worked fine in every respect (if it ain't broke fix it till it is)---I went into driver manager and selected the recommended nvidia 340.106 Oubuntu3 drivers and this system crashes everytime I open Synaptics Package Manager...

Re: [SOLVED] MInt 19 bluetooth problems

I was using a bluez-tools command to connect in 17.3.
That package is also no longer offered in the Tara repositories.
Ya gotta go with the flow--right?

Re: MInt 19 bluetooth problems

Hello again MrEen, The referenced solution depends on bluez-utils whcih is not a repository package for Mint 19, but may have been an imbedded solution for 17.x series. Thank you for your Mint support and response. @JeremyB Yes that is the mitigation I was looking for. I added it to a growing startu...

[SOLVED] MInt 19 bluetooth problems

It seems nothing has changed in Mint 19 regarding bluetooth connectivity. I use a T651 Wireless Trackpad which gets recognized, paired, and connected. But after reboot I have to go back into the gui, select the recognized device, and enter reconnect to get it to work. This is a continuing issue I ha...

My apologies toolrick,
You have limited hardware options that have been overlooked here.

I try to format the drive and it says (immediately) "Finished" but it is not formatted. How are you doing this--gparted? If so after you choose format you must click the 'Apply all operations' arrow under 'Help' in the toolbar. gparted operates with root privileges and does not observe read-only or...

A more physical option is to take out the hard drive, put it in a USB enclosure, use another computer to install your OS to the drive then put the drive back.

Re: Problem Accessing to my User

Yes, TimeShift I have heard... the problem is that my computer CPU is rather short in memory, I've only got 32GB of storage and I tried to find any information to get timeshift to work or save the backup in an external drive but it seems difficult. Have you done this? Yes, I have used Timeshift and...
