Re: WINE won't install correctly - winecfg and wine commands not found
I've installed wine using the package 'wine-installer' via synaptic in linuxmint 19.1 and 19.2. It seems to install all the packages required to run wine, and I then ran 'configure wine' from the mint menu.

Re: ABC TV Iview in Linux Mint 19.
I'm using Linux mint 19.1 Cinnamon edition, and it is working for me in firefox. I think it worked in LM 19 too. Given the software is likely similar, could this be an issue with your hardware?

Re: How can I change tab and toolbar font size in Chromium and Chrome?
Thanks for the help, I have followed the suggestions (uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome as well as ensuring it was closed) and the fonts in Chrome menu and toolbars are still much smaller than Firefox. For me that makes it less useful as it is harder to read. If you've any other ideas I will appr...

Re: Boring Mint??
I used to love Windows 3.11 as it was so much fun to set up. Everything had to be downloaded and installed separately, totally unlike linux with easy hardware setup and software repositories. LinuxMint is actually great, but I do miss all the manual installations, having to configure hardware and fi...

Re: Camera Upside-down
A few years ago I had a HP laptop that did have the camera module installed upside down. Apparently it wasn't unusual. I had difficulty correcting the problem using software - it was actually a hardware issue. I eventually fixed it by taking the computer apart and putting the camera back in the corr...

Re: How to read Outlook .pst mails in Thunderbird?
Hi Ryan, There is software available for Linux Mint which is supposed to convert .pst files so they can be imported into Thunderbird. Search for pst in synaptic and check them out. I've got an .ost file that I need to convert to .pst so I can then use the linux .pst software. I haven't managed to fi...

How can I change tab and toolbar font size in Chromium and Chrome?
Hi All, I'm running Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon on a 14" laptop with a 2560x1440 screen, and using a display resolution of 1920x1080. Fonts on the toolbar and tabs in Chrome and Chromium are small and fairly hard to read, while fonts on the toolbar of Firefox seem to scale the same way as those us...

Re: Linux on Chromebook (intel)
I installed Ubuntu on a Toshiba Chromebook similar to yours and it worked fine, I was able to run Ubuntu and Chrome OS. It is a bit of fiddling though and I have another laptop running LinuxMint, which I prefer to Ubuntu. If you do some searching on the web you'll work out how to do it. From memory ...

Re: Mint 18 Cinnamon 64 bit BETA early review
I've also installed Mint 18 Cinnamon 64 bit - I'm keen to see what is new and prepared to take a chance. It installed without a glitch and is working nicely. I haven't had much time to test it yet but so far it looks good. I'll be making another donation to the team soon.

Hi dancingdog777, I've installed the 64 bit cinnamon beta of Mint 18 on my laptop and it is working quite well for me too. There were some little visual glitches during installation and first reboot but the desktop is working very nicely.

Re: Mint 17.1 release date?
From this ftp site it looks like RC is being uploaded now: http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/linuxmint.com/testing/ If you can't wait until the announcement you could give them a try - they could get pulled if there is a last minute issue but if you like taking risks, go for it! Check the md5sum to make sure...

Re: How do I get a different color in Thunderbird?
You can change the theme by selecting tools on Thuderbird's menu bar, then selecting add-ons. When you select the get add-ons tab you will see that there are quite a few themes to choose from.

Mirror list is here: http://www.linuxmint.com/mirrors.php
The Ireland mirror seems like one of the best and most up to date.

If you browse through the mirror list you will see that the ISO is available for download - my download just finished. You should check the md5sum to make sure that it is the full ISO before attempting to install from it.

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon RC is out!
It looks like the final release of Mint 17 is now testing - see http://community.linuxmint.com/iso
Hopefully there won't be too many issues so that it can be released soon. The RC is working very nicely for me, but I'll wait for final before updating PC's used by other people.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Z585 - Cannot install Mint
Have you tried booting into a live session rather than installing from the CD/DVD/USB Stick? I normally do that and install from the desktop icon.
