Re: Linux Mint 7 RC1 released!

I have noticed on Ubuntu 9.04 and mint 7 RC1 that while using Totem Movie Player (not sure about other players) when using it for a few min and you move the mouse, it goes to the desktop background for a split second and goes back to the video you were watching. Its not harware related b/c It does t...

Re: Multiple GUI at login

thanks, that worked. I didn't see in the repository before.

luckily I don't care if it's version 4.1 or 4.2 as long as its not 2.0 and older.

Multiple GUI at login

this may have been said but whats the easiest way to get multiple GUI? I would like KDE 4 as an option during the login screen.

I'm taking a stab at it

Code: Select all

apt-get install kde-core

Compiz setting

I reinstalled mint 6 and I can't get one of the settings correct. I'm trying to have the mouse wheel to scroll between desktops. I used to be able to use the wheel for firefox, nautius etc and if I had my mouse over the desktop it would then switch. I know button 4 and 5 is the mouse wheel and if I ...

Re: Several Noobish quesions.

#6 - System > Preferences > mintDesktop > Desktop Items tab - check or uncheck what you want.[/quott] thanks that did the trick. now I can feel at peace b/c there isn't cluttered. #5 add to panel--force quit. I already do but, It's nice to know if there is a shortcut. plus, I already know how to do...

Re: Several Noobish quesions.

#1 Not sure about this. My thoughts are that if it doesn't have a configure file then it isn't a proper Linux source file. So you can't compile it. #2 dpkg -r songbird or dpkg -P songbird depending on whether or not you want to remove associated config files (-P does this). BTW what is this obsessi...

Re: New NVIDIA 180.22 Works in My Mint System Just Fine

you don't know how happy I am to have that driver work for me. I'v tried countless distros of linux and none of them would install the drive via NV method. This was quite annoying as I bought a new card like a year ago. (8800 GS) so I had to use XP. I just wounder when are they going to fix this pro...
