Re: Which do you prefer: Cinnamon or XFCE?

I have both Cinnamon and Xfce installed , and I prefer Xfce:
1. faster;
2. more useful applets;
3. Thunar makes bulk-rename easier;
4. Slingscold works in Xfce not in Cinnamon;
5. not for me, but : the vertical panel.
For now, That's it.

Re: Forum reorganization June 2014

@ xenopeek 1. it was my mistake, I thought the forum search engine is based on those engines (but it is not); 2. I know some ways to increases font size, but as a suggestion I made here is making default font size larger because sometimes it is hard to distinguish the text and the following signatur...

Re: Forum reorganization June 2014

Several suggestions:
1. as some known reason, in China google is not available, please make other search engine such as bing ,yahoo or even baidu as options;
2. make the default font larger;
3. update Tapatalk if possible;
4. make a sub-forum for cinnamon spices especially the X-lets

Thanks.

Re: ibus and chinese input

Thanks for the reminder, highwind. In the end I gave up trying to get ibus working with Firefox, so de-installed and tried fcitx instead. After a few attempts, not really knowing what I was doing, I got it working. I was looking for a simple how-to (in English) on setting up fcitx, but didn't find ...

Re: [Chat] Still keep a Windows? Speak out your reason

I don't use anymore Windows for personal reasons since 2009. I had to keep it until the end of my studies because we where using specific software and then I erased it from my HD. Now I have only Linux Mint. This said, I'm using Windows every day at work. I don't have the choice here... I don't und...

Last Win I used was XP, but quite a few years ago I learned I can do everything I want on Linux. I don't even keep my data on a 'Windows compatible' filesystem - all my partitions are JFS.

Still have to use Win at work though.

[Chat] Still keep a Windows? Speak out your reason

I still keep windows as my must have OS, besides I have paid for it, here are some more reasons: 1.in my country , barely bank support non-IE browsers for users to access; 2.I have a ipod in my hand, and I have to use iTunes. Then what is yours? (include running a vbox or dual-boot) Welcome to join ...

Re: [How to] Setup sudoers file for multiply users system?

discussion continue : to maximize the userA's privilege but limit he/she to access userB's files what command root can allow userA to use, and what can not? It depends on what kind of privileges you are talking about. Just grant access to specific commands to be run as root. Like this you will have...
