Re: Line input from my Casette Player

Hi Alvin, Yes, connecting the cassette player to your system using the Line-In audio jack is correct. The procedure for doing what you want with your cassettes is almost the same as people converting their vinyl albums playing on a record player into digital audio files and most people use "Audacity...

Re: TS video files treated as text or executable

Hi BillBald,

Why not try simply renaming the files, or some of them as a test, to ".mpeg" or perhaps ".mpg" and see if that works.

Hope this helps ...

Re: Which browser is recommended?

Hi Charles_NL, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. The recommended or default browser for Linux Mint is Firefox and it is already installed in all editions of Linux Mint. I always recommend that people install more than one browser like Google's Ch...

Re: TS video files treated as text or executable

Hi BillBald, You are welcome... I am a fairly quick typist, so no it did not take very long to time that in, longer to decide what to put into the reply. I do not see anything wrong with the results of the "inxi -Fxzd" console terminal command, so that is a good thing. Assuming the Yumi USB stick cr...

Re: How to upload books for free download?

Hi deepakdeshp, You are welcome... Apparently, Amazon.com does provide for authors to put their book(s) on their website whether they are free or to be purchased because there are other authors that are members of this forum that have books on Amazon. Hi Gartenzwerg, Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum! It would help to know more about your system setup. Hi CJBornak717, Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum! +1 I think it would be nice for Linux Mint to have their own email client X-apps that would be available to all Linux users because the Linux Mint developers do try to make their applications easier for the average...

Re: Need advice on wifi cards and setup

Hi vineyridge, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. There are many WiFi adapters that work well in Linux. I would recommend a plug-n-play WiFi adapter that does not require installing drivers. Why not go with a USB WiFi Adapter that is plug-n-play w...

Re: Is Brasero correct app to burn dvd?

Hi deepakdeshp, Yes, the DVD drive information does look good according to the results of the "inxi". But, that does not necessarily mean the drive is in working order. CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives do wear out depending upon the age of the drive and how much it has been used. I have had to replace my Cd/DV...
