Re: 32 bit Tara fails the installation (SOLVED)

HI bushyiii, I recommend using either a DVD or USB stick for burning the installation "test drive" versions of Linux Mint. The USB stick is actually faster and can be used with "persistence". You can even fully install Linux Mint onto USB sticks of 20gb or larger (requires 2 USB sticks or a DVD and ...

Hi jacatone, Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum! I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. Why are you using Linux Mint 17.3 versus 18.3 or even the newer 19? And, which Linux Mint edition are you using Cinnamon, Mate, X...

Re: 32 bit Tara fails the installation (SOLVED)

Hi bushyiii, Unlike buying a computer with an operating system already installed on it like most have with MS Windows or Mac where the hardware has been matched, with Linux I always recommend to new users to burn a DVD or USB stick of each version of Linux operating system to boot to it and try it o...

Re: How to view file(video) detailed properties through file folder or properties

Hi Solo88 I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. By installing the "mediainfo" and "mediainfo-gui" packages from the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM) you can always right-click a multimedia file (video, music, etc..) using any file m...

Re: 32 bit Tara fails the installation (SOLVED)

Hi bushyiii,

The results show only 32-bit single-core Pentium M processor with only 1.5gb of system memory perhaps some of the system memory is for shared video graphics.

I would still recommend using Linux Mint Xfce or Mate 32-bit for this computer.

Hope this helps ...

Re: Does anyone know an alternative to Disk Indicator?

HI drpeppercan, As was mentioned by member "gm10", download the 64-bit or 32-bit Linux deb file from the link below, and double-click it to install it. I was able to download it a moment ago. This may require a restart or at least logging out and back in. Releases · teejee2008/diskman · GitHub https...

Re: can someone please help me uninstall a program

Hi gatorade, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. I love the "pCloud" service with 10gb of free space and their excellent Linux Client software and I have never had any problems with it. I did not know they had an AppImage version now. I have always...

Hi Domin_PL, You are welcome from all of us that replied... I am glad you found something that is working for you. It may just be your particular Bluetooth headset and its microphone that is a problem because other Bluetooth headsets do work, so you might try another one. Amazon.com and maybe even l...

Hi joer4x4,

I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.

FYI: If the Claws Mail "fancy" plugin is available as a Linux "Xenial" deb file per user "galaxy0815", it may install and work in Linux Mint 19.x

Hope this helps ...

Re: [SOLVED without flatpak] Gimp 2.10 and flatpak

Hi GiuTor, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. That does seem like a lot of space for the Gimp flatpak. I have always used the Gimp "otto" PPA and the Gimp AppImage which is only around 160mb. This PPA below provides Linux Mint 19 users with Gimp v...
