Re: re-install windows on linux
Hi jamesb7a, You are welcome... Yes, if you have never used Google Voice (GV) and or Hangouts, it can take a little time to get used to it, not much though. GV works very well and has many very cool built-in features, free voicemail, voicemail transcription, call forwarding, call blocking, etc... an...

Re: re-install windows on linux
HI jamesb7a, So far, so good. Yes, Google Voice is free to call anywhere in the USA, Canada, Mexico?, perhaps some other places and with low international rates as well. If anyone you call also has a Google Voice phone number then that is free too, no matter where in the world they may be. You did i...

Re: 'Muzo' equivalent for Mint (Wi-Fi driver)
Hi groware, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run " inxi -Fxzd " and " lsusb " from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide ...

Re: re-install windows on linux
Hi jamesb7a, FYI: I remembered that I have a couple MagicJack dongles (devices), the older silver one without the Ethernet Port and one of the first MagicJack Plus ones (black) when they first came out with an Ethernet Port. I have not had service with them for years though, although it always worke...

Re: re-install windows on linux
Hi jamesb7a, You are welcome... Okay, so you have the older MagicJack because the newer MagicJack Plus does have the Ethernet port jack and would not require any computer operating system to function. But, from what I just read it would cost $35 to get a newer MagicJack Plus which IMHO would be bett...

Hi victorfrankl, Since this is a Java based game application, you must have Java runtime(s) installed. Open source Java (openJDK) version 8 is usually installed and I always install the Oracle Java 8 as well. You might also need to install this. sudo apt install openjfx icedtea-netx After downloadin...

Re: re-install windows on linux
Hi jamesb7a, This computer with 7.5 gb of system memory (ram) can run virtualbox and windows, read the link on that. It doesn't have to be that fast for running MagicJack. I noticed your previous post regarding the MagicJack... Does your MagicJack have an ethernet port, if so, you do not need MS Win...

Re: KeePass question
Hi tovian,
+1 for using the excellent "KeePassXC" everywhere. I have it installed using their PPA which also has deb files and I have downloaded and tried their AppImage file which also works great.
- They also have new browser extension add-ons, if you want to integrate it into your browsers.

Re: re-install windows on linux
HI jamesb7a, Ok, where to start regarding your post... 1.) Leave Linux Mint on both machines. You can easily install MS Windows in VirtualBox under Linux Mint to run the MagicJack or any other MS Windows application, assuming your computer has enough hardware resources which the one computer probabl...

Hi adilhaimoura, I am not sure why you are having issues getting a vpngate server to work in your Linux Mint system which should be easy to do, just import one of their server locations that you downloaded from the "openVPN" section of the vpngate website, After clicking the openVPN link to a vpngat...
