Re: Can't get Logitech B500 webcam to work with Skype

Hi WolfShade2k19, You are welcome... I do not see anything wrong with the results of the "inxi -Fxzd" console terminal command, so that is a good thing. Looks like as really nice computer. I know very little about VMware and how Linux or MS Windows works as either the host or guest operating system ...

Hi kamie, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. +1 for not using "Firemin". Re: So i took the leap of faith.

Hi Swampthing

That's great you have been using Linux Mint and are happy with it.

What MS Windows application are you using in Virtualbox with MS Windows that you need to use? Perhaps there is a Linux version of that application or another application that can do the same thing.

Re: How do i extract a Tar.xz file in Linux?

Hi chowchow, Okay, this is related to your other post as well. First, this is not MS Windows, it is better to save files to your Downloads folder rather than to your desktop folder. Second, gtk-gnutella v1.1.8-2 is in the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)". I do not know if that version works or not, ...

Hi exfed2002,

I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.

If you and or your mother-in-law likes Chromium, then you might consider installing Vivaldi which is based on Chromium with many useful and cool features.

Re: Windows VPN client via WINE?

Hi monkeylizard, +1 for "dan_me" comment. I did not see a Linux VPN software Client for IPVanish, although you can add their openVPN servers through the Network Manager. Re: How do i extract a Tar.xz file in Linux?

Hi chowchow,

I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.

You can bring up your file manager and browse to the archive file (.tar.xz, .zip, .7z) and just right-click the file and select "extract here".

Hope this helps ...
