[solved] Black Screen Of Death after a while of normal usage, sound keeps working

Hi! I've been using Linux Mint Cinnamon on my Lenovo T430 (Intel 4000 graphics) for a while now. I think I started on 18 version, then survived through a few upgrades and I'm now on Mint 19.3. It's been fine for a few weeks after the upgrade to 19.3. But yesterday I found my laptop with a black scre...

Command to switch to a specific keyboard layout?

Hi! I'm on Linux Mint 19 Tara, Cinnamon, 64-bit. What is the command to switch to a specific keyboard layout? These don't work: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.input-sources current 1 gdbus call --session --dest org.gnome.Shell --object-path /org/gnome/Shell --method org.gnome.Shell.Eval "imports.ui...

Re: Linux Mint 18 - Disabled alt click shortcut

This helped: http://www.thomasso.com/2016/07/23/disa ... 35dcZ.dpbs

TL/DR: System Settings > Windows > Behavior > Special key to move and resize windows.

Re: Linux Mint 18 - Disabled alt click shortcut

xenopeek, this does not resolve the problem of click-dragging the mouse with Alt held down.

My IDE is supposed to box-select text, but instead Cinnamon moves the window.

Re: Terrible lags in all games on Mint 18, didn't happen on Mint 17

No luck. :(

Maybe I should disable some service? I remember on Ubuntu 14.04 a file indexing service was causing trouble.

Terrible lags in all games on Mint 18, didn't happen on Mint 17

Hi! I've got a clean install of Mint 18 Cinnamon 64-bit on a ThinkPad T430 (2x2.9GHz, 16GB RAM, SSD, Intel 4000). I experience heavy lags in ALL games, both heavy and lightweight ones. Lags happen like every other minute and last for like 10 seconds, with smooth experience in between. It didn't happ...

Disable middle click PASTE without disabling normal middle mouse button behavior

Hi! I'm on Mint Sarah 18 Cinnamon 64-bit. I'm using a laptop with TrackPoint, the middle mouse button is used for scrolling. It causes LOTS of unwanted paste operations. I want to disable the middle click paste feature. I googled hard, but all I found were two options: 1. Patch GTK2 to disabl...
