Re: gm10's Linux Mint Tools PPA

On the "kernel flavor" mode gm10 wrote: At best you can forget you switched flavours, I suppose. "forget", that was my concern, especially because the fl...

Re: gm10's Linux Mint Tools PPA

Hello, Thank you for your LMT. Small thing: If you switch on the kernel flavour mode, then the kernel list is ambiguous, because its interpretation depends on state of the kernel flavour switch. Maybe it would be more convenient to retain "low-latency" and "generic" label on each line in the kernel ...

Re: How to install Kernel 5.1 in a Linux Mint way

@ gm10
It seems that there is no way to contact developer to report bugs on your 'Linux Mint Tools' ppa (if the need arise) or there is some other way?

Re: How to stop GnuGP from caching the 'secret key' ?

@ ES44AC8102: I checked this on three different Mint 17 machines successfully. But there was slight difference between computers, so there is some redundancy in description which doesn't hurt. You can try to install only gnupg-agent or only dconf-editor if you inclined to troubleshoot the result by ...

Re: How to stop GnuGP from caching the 'secret key' ?

The pass-phrase caching appeared in gpg2.x versions. It seems that Linux Mint 17 has gpg1.x installed, Linux Mint 18 has both gpg1.x and gpg2.x and Linux Mint 19 has gpg2.x. just check in terminal: gpg --version gpg2 --version So, to prevent pass-phrase caching, you can try to implement gpg-agent in...

Re: Failed to start dirmngr at gpg keyserver

Please try

Code: Select all

sudo apt install dirmngr
I was able to fix with that in debian testing where dirmngr may be an optional component.

Re: USB boot failure - "can't find linux '16'"

1. To create really working bootable installation image of Mint USB stick under Window use LinuxLive USB Creator found at http://www.linuxliveusb.com/en/download. Don't use percictency option. 2. On certain hardware before booting from USB you need to invoke BIOS boot menu and choose appropriate USB...
