Re: Is Ubuntu/Canonical evil, and should I switch to LMDE?
Same here, I'm using Debian Stable and Debian Testing for many years without any issues. The title and the last (cited above) paragraph in section 7 of Piotr's article are really unfortunate, though the rest is correct. For me the first choice for production level machine will be Debian Stable, and ...

Re: How do I switch to a HTTPS mirror of security.ubuntu.com?
Having Ubuntu single security updates server is by design. See SecurityTeam FAQ : What repositories and pockets should I use to make sure my systems are up to date? While packages are copied from security to updates frequently, it is recommended that systems always have the security pocket enabled, ...

Re: Support of 6.1.0 series Kernel
... continuing. Ubuntu migrated oem-6.1 kernel to oem-6.5. I still have it installed on LM 21.2 and last update was on 24 Jul 2024 (although on Ubuntu 24.04 / LM 22 it will be supported - if it still be in vein with new Ubuntu kernel policy). There is little difference between oem and generric kerne...

Of course. Still we are talking about an issue when OP couldn't save files to the ext4 partitions while being logged in in Linux Mint live system.u814e94bab14ee651f4 wrote: ⤴Mon Oct 14, 2024 1:58 pm chown, chmod and chgrp never work with NTFS, exfat or fat32 file systems.
With native Linux file systems, chown and chgrp and chmod all work.

There were 248 commits to the driver since March and about 1112 since Jan 2022 https://lore.kernel.org/linux-fsdevel/?q=ntfs3 . I did Debian 12 and 13 installations several times already alongside other systems. Always used full DVD installer in expert mode https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/release/current/amd64/iso-dvd/ . Among other improvements in Kate, now you can now configure font features for fonts that supports that.
Before applying font feature: After applying some features of Fira Code font: It's for Qt 6.7, so you need to compile Kate or use its nightly appimage.

probably those who are using old repository should remove it as well, something like sudo rm -f \ /etc/apt/sources.list.d/librewolf.sources \ /etc/apt/keyrings/librewolf.gpg \ /etc/apt/preferences.d/librewolf.pref \ /etc/apt/sources.list.d/librewolf.list \ /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/librewolf.gpg

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash mitigations=off noibpb no_stf_barrier_tsx=on" Ubuntu has kernels compiled with CPU_MITIGATIONS=y. I'd stay with mitigations=off , adding any other switches makes sense if mitigations=off is not used, and you are disabling only some specific costly ...

systemd-udev-settle.service is a static service, some other service may pull it in. Just to be sure run in terminal sudo systemctl stop systemd-udev-settle.service sudo systemctl disable systemd-udev-settle.service and after reboot post the result of sudo systemctl status systemd-udev-settle.service
