Re: Mint Update update keeps reappearing

Wheelspin, - "...a faulty drive (its an SSD..." The hardware is now suspect, although it still could be usable for a fresh install (like if the power failure damaged only the data on the drive, but not the drive itself). The inability to format a partition, or delete and create new ones suggests dis...

Re: Mint Update update keeps reappearing

I did not see any dependency warnings, but I cannot say with certainty they didn't appear (I could have simply missed them). What I am sure of is this: when alerted that some updates could not be downloaded, and asked if I want to continue anyway, I selected "yes". Perhaps that was not a good choice...

Re: Mint Update update keeps reappearing

I know my stuck-in-a-loop Update Manager problem was slightly different than the one in focus here (described earlier). But I did solve my problem by updating dependencies. I didn't see this idea mentioned in any of the previous posts...maybe it could help Wheelspin's problem too. I used the followi...

Re: Mint Update update keeps reappearing

I've got a similar problem with the Update Manager. Help --> About shows mintUpdate 4.9.3.3 I'm stuck in the same kind of loop as user Wheelspin. There's only one update appearing, mint-upgrade-info new version 1.0.4, and when I click "Install Updates" the same exact upgrade package reappears, over ...

Re: Linux Printing isn't working

Google Cloud Print can work from Linux, at least for printing. The fantastic thing about this method is that it completely eliminates the need to install a print driver. The downside is that cloud printing just prints...no scanning from an all-in-one. Setting up a cloud printer is a two step process...

Re: Linux Printing isn't working

This thread could turn out to be very influential. In 7 weeks 70+ million Windows XP systems, still in use today, will become unquestionably obsolete. All support ends for the second most used OS in April 2014. Many of those systems are perfectly capable of running a modern OS, such as Linux Mint. I...

Re: Flash video and graphics problem Intel 865 Mint 15 MATE

The problem described by Cokol (at the top) may be explained, and fixed, by understanding the video acceleration modes. There are two modes, UXA and SNA. UXA is the older, more mature mode. SNA is the faster, newer mode, but it's less stable. If you have the onboard Intel 865G integrated graphics li...
