Re: Bluetooth sucks

Even Blueman struggles to connect. I've had to dig out the CLI and type in
sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
then Blueman will connect whereas Blueberry still connects and then disconnects. I thought that this was meant to have been sorted for LM 18.3 - or so their blog said!

Re: SDHC cards and GParted

Yes. I can read the data on the drive.

SDHC cards and GParted

I need to reformat a 32 GB SDHC card that was originally formatted on a Samsung Mobile. Whenever I try to use GParted it stalls if the card is unmounted when it starts. If it is mounted before GParted starts it shows up, but the program stalls when unmounting the drive which shows up as the followin...

Re: Firefox or Chrome?

On Windows 7, Chrome uses a lot of resources, and Firefox uses a little less (but maybe it is just the way I have them set up). On Linux Mint 17 Xfce 64-bit, Chromium and Firefox seem to use about the same amount of resources. It really comes down to my wife uses Firefox so I use Chrome/ium because...

Re: Chromium not accepting keyboard

Is it working yet? Keyboard plugged in? Maybe cat pulled the cord? I'm having the same problem with Chromium (Version 34.0.1847.116 Built on Ubuntu 14.04, running on LinuxMint 17 aura (260972)). That is with pepperflash plugin installed. It seems that the repositories are lagging behind a lot. 35.0...

Re: Outdated Chromium in repositories

This frenzy to seek the latests versions as looking for the Graal is quite amazing considering you run an outdated kernel revision (3.13.0- 24 ) on your box (current latest revision is 3.13.0- 32 ) ;) The reason that I want a more up to date but STABLE Chromium is so that I can actually use it to r...

Re: LM17 Qiana - Blueman stil not connecting my devices<SOLV

Hey, guys. This command also worked for me. If it helps, I have made a quick post with this solution in my blog[1]. Thanks! [1]: http://blog.gadr.me/quick-tip-bluetooth-a2dp-on-linux-mint-17-qiana-mate/ Thanks, that worked. It was funny that it picked up my headphones (KS Manhattan) as being Mono. ...

Re: Outdated Chromium in repositories

I'm using Linux Mint 17 (Qiana) and that is the one showing in the repositories. Sorry, forgot to put that in my original query.

And I have backported ticked in software sources.

Outdated Chromium in repositories

Is there a reason that a very old version of Chromium is in the repositories & hasn't been brought up to date? And any idea when a more up to date version is going to appear? According to Synaptic, the "latest" version is 34.0.1847.116-0ubuntu2. Yet 35 was released in Feb 2014, 36 was released in Ma...

Re: LM17 Qiana - Blueman stil not connecting my devices

I'm having the same problem connecting a pair of Kitsound Manhattan headphones. They are registering in Blueman, but failing to connect properly either as just headphones or using the inbuilt microphone. Is there an explanation anywhere as why it was necessary to have to install Blueman as they work...

Re: clamav reporting wine

I am aware of what PUAs are. It's just that suddenly all of the Wine "library" is being reported. That was not true a week ago. :D

clamav reporting wine

I'm running clamtk 5.04-1 as the GUI for clamav 0.98.1. It is reporting nearly every single part of wine 1.6.2 as a PUA with the following explanation "PUA.Win32.Packer.PrivateExeProte-7 FOUND". I've run sudo chkrootkit and it isn't finding any problems. Do I take it that clamav is again reporting w...
