Re: New Smartphone

I have been using a iPhone SE since it came out. At 77 it is ok for me.
I also have an sixth generation iPad for reading books since I can adjust the font size and keep many books on hand.
I keep a PC with W10 just for these two.

Re: eBike users

I posted about a year or two ago. Upgraded to a new bike. At over seventy seven and arthritis in both knees I now use a modified 27.5 inch modified KHS 200 bicycle with a 48 volt 750 watt Luna mid motor and 14.5 amp battery. Capable of 52 volt also. Motor and controller mounted near pedal assembly. ...

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

I am in the USA and right now listening to Pandora music on my iPhone while on my PC and watching Rad Sox baseball. Bluetooth Hearing aids for music so stepson not bothered. lol Mostly classic rock as I dance three or four nights a week. Over seventy seven and still dancing. Have a number of women w...

Re: Linux (and Mint) contribute to my anger levels

I have been running Linux since 2003. No problems. Right now I run a laptop with W10. Much too difficult to dual boot with Linux. I tried. I refuse to spend hours maybe days on the forums trying to figure it out. It use to be easy before W10. I also run Mint on an older Acer laptop quite well. Not s...

On my PC, sometimes I use Google search or Dogpile. They both have different results at times.
On my iPhone and iPad I use Firefox Focus.

I forgot to mention. I retired in 2006 and live on a pension. It works. In the US, it is call SS check. It is enough. I work out and stay healthy even at over seventy seven.

Re: Bluetooth hearing aids

The devices are called, RE Sound Smart Hearing Aids. No doubt pricey. Still not as good as natural hearing but that is life.
I am a US veteran so it cost me fifty dollars including the hearing test.

Re: Be more active in life..not just computer science

I agree. A computer is just a tool. It does not need a pretty desktop. At 77, I still date, ride a bike maybe 2500 km a year. Dance two or three nights a week. We have rail trails in our part of the USA, actually a lot of the US. I try to keep our city clerk aware of any issues. Four years in the US...

Re: Win10 over-rode my settings to prevent Updates

That was another reason why I left a new HP laptop with W10 on it alone and kept an Acer with Mint. Lot less troubles.
I use to dual boot with Windows up until W8 before but no more.
I only dual or triple boot on the Acer with Linux.
I need a good W10 PC for my iPhone and iPad and Apple music.

Re: Google is STILL tracking you — here's how to limit it

Thanks. I only use Gmail once in a while. On my PC, I always clear History every time I close FF and never allow third party cookies. Clear everything else. I do not sign in to Google. They keep trying to get me to protect my browser when I open FF. Who are they kidding? I use Google search page as ...

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

Local Blues music. My hearing aids have bluetooth and my iPhone has the music. Anywhere, anytime. Nice. Sometimes at a dance with a band during intermission and no music, I put one hearing aid in my dance partner and the other in my ear and we do a dance. Amazes everyone since they cannot hear the m...

Re: Any negative ramifications for using multiple-Google-account sign-in setup?

I have noticed recently Google telling me to manage my privacy by signing in. I might have been born in the dark but it was not last night. All I use is Google mail. Google is another privacy thief like Facebook. I use Google search for a home page and they keep trying to get me to sign up. No Fxxxx...

Dream on. Many places, I use cash or a check because they get charged for me using a debit or credit card. My mechanic. dentist, car insurance company, bicycle company, places that request it, etc, small businesses.
