Re: Is it possible to install it remotely?

No, this will not work. 1. Nobody from the distance will be able to insert the DVD - which would have to be bought or to be burned from the downloaded ISO - and to set the computer to boot from the disk. 2. Nobody is able from the distance to plugin the right cable into the network connector or to ...

Re: Is it possible to install it remotely?

I don't know of any way to do that, but I have been thinking about this, too. A friend of mine is a Christian missionary in Nicaragua, and prefers to use Linux over Windows. (As a pastor, he thinks it's a good practice NOT to deal with companies he considers to be immoral, plus he wants to set a go...

Re: Windows 10 to be free upgrade

2. Last but not least, yes, is free upgrade but ONLY for 365 days and then I will have to pay in order to be able to continue having Win10 Wait, what? My understanding was that the upgrade was free for 7 and 8.1 users for the next 365 days following July 29th, and then it would begin costing for an...

Re: Windows 10 to be free upgrade

Microsoft named them 10 instead of 9. Anyway, personally I wont upgrade my Win7 for two reasons : 1. I am very satisfy with Win7 plus I have LinuxMint so the combination of the two of those great OS, is a killer :D ( Although I am thinking to use only Linux and for Windows programs the Wine emulator...

Hi everybody, my laptop doesn't want Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon RC 64 bit version. I used the other version (who support UEFI) but it doesn't work too. Re: How to install Wine 64 bit on LinuxMint Cinnamon 17.2RC

OK, problem solved :D :D I was trying to install Steam under Wine 64, that is why in POL (PlayOnLinux) I made a virtual 64bit drive and install Steam there, but the ONLY thing I had to do is to not create a new virtual drive for Steam but install Steam regularly and choose to install in C-Program fi...

Re: How to install Wine 64 bit on LinuxMint Cinnamon 17.2RC

While I am still waiting for help ... you could have answered my question about the "default virtual disk". can you please tell me how to "force" Wine to act as a 64bit one and not as a 32 bit As said wine (I do not speak about POL) automatically creates a 64-bit-prefix on a 64-...

Re: How to install Wine 64 bit on LinuxMint Cinnamon 17.2RC

While I am still waiting for help, I thought to correct the problem with the theme, so I removed the YlmfOS theme which was looks like XP and I installed the Mint-XP theme. Re: How to install Wine 64 bit on LinuxMint Cinnamon 17.2RC

the default virtual disk is 32 bit and not 64 bit, I have to enable-win64 but I cannot locate the ./config etc etc . You will not find it, because it does not exist. All settings in wine are stored in the used prefix, by default in ~/.wine. But what do you mean with "default virtual disk"...

Re: US.utf8 causes driver install issues

There must be a conflict during installation. Try to reinstall and everything will be ok. Make sure you will wipe out the hard drive before you install again. Encrypting the HOME folder is not causing any problems. Mostly we encrypt it if there will be more than one user for the computer so they won...

Re: Upgrading with old hardware

Many times my clients brought me old computers in order to install Linux in them. The first thing I do is to check it's RAM. If the laptop or desktop has less than 2GB RAM, I tell them to upgrade RAM first. Then, I installing Cinnamon 32 bit, if the computer is NOT responding very well with Cinnamon...
