Re: Problems with Wi-Fi usb adapter

Question - do you see the adapter in your Network Manager, just can't get it to connect? Seriously, please take a look at the thread I referenced I just plugged my WiFi adapter into my little notebook (with LM18 "live" stick ) and loaded the driver - same issue as on my NUC I can SEE the adapter but...

Re: Video driver issue after 18 Upgrade

Tried everything I could think of, update, upgrade by apt-get and aptitude, tried to install what I though were missing packages .....
Called time on it & did a fresh re-install.
I wouldn't call it 'solved' per se, but it is closed.

Re: Mint 18 Network Manager

I used Synaptic to "force" the older version (1.1.93) and confirm my driver now works

I won't mark it "solved" since there is still an issue with the current version.

Mint 18 Network Manager

I have an Asus AC56 WiFi dongle using RTL8812au driver (which I had to manually install) No problems with Mint 16 through 17.3 - Now with LM18, it does not work I discovered through this - https://github.com/gnab/rtl8812au/issues/81 - that the Network manager in the new Kernel is to blame, that it d...

intel microcode 3.20151106.1 - Mint 18

I just upgraded to Linux Mint 18 on my NUC In the Driver Manager I get that single driver, intel microcode 3.20151106.1 which currently has the 'do not use the device' selected What is this for? (I have one current issue in that I cannot get one of my wireless adapters to work, but I'm sure it has n...

I have a small notebook - Asus EEE 1005HAB I successfully (or so it appeared) upgraded from 17.3 to 18; Everything looked fine, display was normal (the new 'black' desktop appeared about halfway through the upgrade) I was trying to load a driver for my USB Network Adapter and tried to mount a USB st...

Re: Powers off instead of suspending.

It is possibly in the bios setting - have you looked in there?
You could also do quick test to see what happens if you just boot into BIOS and close lid & see what happens in that mode.
That will confirm if coming from BIOS or from your Linux OS
I would suspect the former.

Re: wake from USB device

Found this excellent solution: https://www.flynsarmy.com/2015/05/enabling-wake-on-usb-in-kodi/ Use same process for LinuxMint - only difference for me was location of the USB device (which script finds for you anyway) and of course location of the 'autostart' which as suggested is indeed /etc/rc.loc...

Re: Linux Shares 'disappear' on Win 7 network

The solution is HERE

For me, I just needed to follow part 3 [2] and add another user, then use those credentials to access the Win10 shares.
I can now access those Win10 shares from both my Linux systems AND the Android system by using that added user.

Re: Win10, Linux, mDNS, and Samba File Sharing

AMAZING post - Thank you!!!!

No matter what I tried, I could not access my Win10 shares - my access was simply not recognized
By applying part 3 [2} and creating another user, all is good!

Re: Linux Shares 'disappear' on Win 7 network

Update I now have all my Win10 systems recognizing each other and accessible to each other (I removed each system from the WORKGROUP and re-connected it) The Win10 machine will not 'see' the Linux shares directly, but I can manually add the Linux shares to the network map, after which those shares c...

Re: Installing HD realtek audio manager

Are you running it out of the decompressed folder? Also - you should not need to be 'root' for this. Assuming the package is in your Downloads folder: Go to the Downloads folder and unpack it cd Downloads tar xvjf LinuxPkg_5.17rc5.tar.bz2 Then Change to the unpacked driver folder and run from there ...
