Welcome to Linux land....just take it slow, ask lots of questions, yet be patient waiting for answers. Especially if on the IRC. In the meantime just continue to practice you Google-Fu and have fun.

Re: mintCast in 2018

Sort of Mint related. There is a way to run cinnamon with i3 as the window manager. I've done it multiple times on Arch..maybe a fun challenge and topic.

Re: Brave Browser slow on start up

How did you install? If you used the snap, I know there is a bit of a delay.

The whole thing is an electron app which isn't very resource friendly itself.
When I get home from work, I will load it and see if I get same results.

Re: What about dropping Ubuntu-based Mint Edition ?

/me gets the stirring stick out. What about basing Mint on Arch? :P I run Manjaro Cinnamon as my daily and love it. Still not as fully polished as Mint though... I stick with Manjaro purely for package selection. Nowadays with flatpaks, appimages, and snaps, I may give Mint 19 a solid go this time,...

For those who want to get their feet wet with Vi/Vim this helps quite a bit.

Re: .Net/Mono 4.5.2

Possibly uninstall wine from Repo's and try from here. .. https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu That should get you version 3, not sure what version of dot net that includes. You can also install dotnet on linux itself and since it's open source these days... look at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet...

I am a fan of pCloud.com ... decent amount of free space and if your willing to pay you get a lot, including zero knowledge crypto.
