Been with Mint since Bea and I have to say Petra in Cinnamon is very nice! I like it so far - 3 days... Nice work guys!

Oh - I used the LTS versison so i did not have to reinstall every 6months to a year . I also re-installed the current LTS again after a year or so of issues and the same issues appeared so it was not an anomalous glitch. Hope this helps.

I was using thye current LTS mint and last year I had package issues which were not found or repository issues that kep messing up the updates. I installed petra a day or two ago and it is much nicer using cinnamon. so I am leary about the current or even future lts versions really being truly updat...

linux and amd

I apologize. This may be in the wrong place - but I need to ask - how does mint work with AMD processors. I am trying to buy a cheap thingpad X series and want to run petra and cinnamon on it. I need to know before a laptop that won't work with this.
