encryption for LMDE 3

I noticed that LMDE 2 does not offer the option for users to encrypt their hard drive during instillation. This would be a welcome change for the next release.
Thanks for reading my request.
Happy Coding,

Need help restoring data

A while back, I copied data from my old LMDE set up using a program called Deja up. Believing that Linux Mint 17 may provide me with more up to date features I've decided to give it a try. Every thing is running fine with the exception of restoring my date from a exhdd. After selecting the folder ba...

Re: Trouble using Keepass

The first Time I was coping the passwords from the screen that appears after the add entry page. I clicked on show password and the copied. All of this was done before saving the entry. Upon saving a new password, I right clicked on the password and click copy to clip board. When I tried to paste th...

Trouble using Keepass

Hello community, I have decided to try out keepass. The program looks nice, but I can only copy the pass words it makes and not paste them to the target site, I have used every way I know how to paste the new password in the field, and nothing. I sure as hell don't want to hand copy a 128bit passwd. H...

Re: Moving into Mint and unpacking

That sounds like a good idea, but I have no idea as to the name of the program. The file extension is .diffar.GZ I hoping there is just a program to unpack all this for me,so I don't do it by hand. Thanks for the input!

Moving into Mint and unpacking

Greeting Mint Community, I've decide to move away from Ubuntu in favor of LMDE. What a big improvement all around. I used the Ubuntu back up program and, the format is not supported by the archive manager program Gulp! Is there another way unpack my files?

Re: Lifting the limits of the cmd line

Thank you for such a detailed response and refresher on the command line. Looks like I may still my training wheels for a little longer! To much GUI has made me a bit lazy. Gulp cinnamon looks great, and might make it worse. I'm told there is bit more command line is used in LMDE, so maybe that...

our father Debian

Greetings Mint Community, in light of my growing frustrations with Ubuntu I've decided to look for a new distro. The battle is between Debian and Mint. A Karate teacher once told me, the further you get from source the weaker the art becomes. Do you think this is the case with Mint? Are there featur...

Lifting the limits of the cmd line

Greetings Mint Community, Does the Mint Distro limit the users ablity to use the command line like it's older brother Ubuntu? For example using the basic cd command to move to the etc dir yields the response of no such dir,but is clearly seen in it's file brower. I know Ubuntu puts some limits on th...
