Re: Cumbria shootings cum creation debate thread. Happy?

Evolution is not an answer to the question "how did everything get here." It's an answer to the question "how did life come about." There is a big difference. Aah! just a process among many possibilities then, certainly not something to hold onto with religious conviction. There is no religio...

Re: Cumbria shootings cum creation debate thread. Happy?

Thanks for reminding me who this thread belongs to, Kaye; please accept my apologies too, OldMarcus, i came in on a little late, but we have to bring this to an affable conclusion somehow, so if you permit, i will continue with this for awhile. Kaye, your belief in evolution and mutation is just as...

Re: Gunman goes on ramage in Cumbria

Listen my friend, when you can show me how life can be formed from non-life, or when you can show me one species turning into another, then you come back and we will talk. Till then you are just another sucker buying all the hype. Your misunderstanding of scientific principle and your complete perv...

Re: Gunman goes on ramage in Cumbria

FedoraRefugee I don't particularly want to get wrapped up in a huge discussion here, but I have to be clear on one thing. As a student of the natural sciences, "creation science" is one of the biggest misnomers I can think of. There is an extremely minuscule amount of science in any kind of "creatio...

Re: with Mint 9 is not possible to save movies

Just thought I should chime in here, Whenever someone comes in acting like zerokool, it's usually a good idea to check out their previous posts before responding. This guy has been nothing but rude and ignorant since day one at this forum. Better off to just ignore someone like him and let him fade ...

Also, mintBackup is a tool for backing up data, not applications (unless you're backing up your apt list).

Re: Hey everyone

Biker, I fuss at Kaye all the time about staying up too late playing on the computer. I guess he thinks he doesn't need any beauty rest. lol I am sure he is tired of hearing me fuss at him. :-) I am looking forward to hearing his valedictorian speech when he graduates though. :-) Fred I have a litt...

If you're running Compiz, try opening Compiz Config Settings Manager -> Workarounds and enable Legacy Fullscreen Support.

Re: Ipod touch 3g syncing?

Just to clarify, what all is possible with these new features in Lucid/Isadora for the iPod/iTouch/iPhone? I am not an Apple supporter but know quite a few people who are. Can you manage the apps for these devices or just music & media files? Can someone depend exclusively on Linux if they have a A...

This is so unrelated to everything and might be spam, but I just have to say that I love your username (especially the inclusion of the accent - nice touch)

Re: Ipod touch 3g syncing?

Little bit of an update - in Mint 9 all that's needed for and iPhone or iTouch to sync with Rhythmbox is ifuse:

Code: Select all

apt install ifuse
Then just open Rhythmbox, plug in your device, and be happy.

Juliana.

Names like Jessica and Julia are too common and not elegant enough IMO.

Anyone is always allowed to stick around and learn. Compared to much of what we see you haven't been rude or said anything ridiculous. For the most part this remained a surprisingly civil discussion.

Welcome to Mint, and good luck.

Re: Firefox Minimise Restore Maximise Buttons Missing

I think a workaround for this is to go into Compiz -> Workarounds and enable Legacy Fullscreen Support.

Not entirely sure if this is the same issue I've dealt with in the past but that worked for me.

You tried this before. Mint doesn't need to come packaged with the bible, the quran, ancient Greek mythology, or any other religious association.

Re: About Firefox's Google search engine

There is nothing the Mint team can do to improve the search - it is limited by Google.

Also, you might want to consider leaving the Mint search if you enjoy using the OS - it is one of the largest sources of revenue for the project.
