Re: very noobish hard drive question

It's personal preference. I have 2 hard-drives as well and have XP on one and Mint on the other. What you are referring to (I believe) is setting up 2 or more partitions on a single hard-drive. I could have taken one hard-drive and set it up to have Mint on half of it and XP on the other half if I h...

Re: Vegastrike and creating a launcher

The Launcher is the one you create by right clicking on the desktop (you choose "Create Launcher" and then browse to the files location). The game executable is in the "Documents" folder (subfolder...

Re: Can't change desktops with mouse wheel over background

Re: Oops, deleted update icon from panel.

when I right click on the "lock", it says in the information that it is MintUpdate. If I double click it, it pulls up MintUpdate...so, I'm assuming it's the same thing...

Are you saying you have a shield on your task bar where the "lock" was?

Re: Use a LiveCD to get files off of a windows machine

EKMA, First, what is wrong with the way merlwiz79 suggested? The user asked about using a live cd and merlwiz79 is a Linux user, so why not a Linux solution? :-) Also, what if the user wanted to move some system files or other files that are in use when Windows is running. We really don't know what...

Re: Use a LiveCD to get files off of a windows machine

question...why don't you boot up the Vista machine and transfer the files over to a jumpdrive and then move the jumpdrive to your Mint OS?

Red Octane Xplorer guitar...trying to install

Have tried many, many different HOWTO's on how to get this installed and working so I can use it to play Frets on Fire. Current website I'm on (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=725405) says to make a Makefile...which I did. It then says to do sudo make...here's what I'm getting in Terminal (...

I personally would try connecting once more through Linux to see if maybe it was just a hiccup with your provider. I've had instances wher...
