Re: Global Application Menu on 20.3 Cinnamon
There was a time when third party developers could keep their code private and Linux Mint supported them so that users could install those extensions from within the system itself. However, that time has passed and now third-party developers have to choose between not having their private code and b...

Re: stopping automatic updates
Hi, your configurable Menu disappear, because i remove this from "spices", like this is not any-more a repository, it' s now a package of Mint and I'm not a Mint developer. So. Configurable Menu will not be any-more an spice applet of Cinnamon, anyway, you can download it directly from git...

Re: Is it possible?
Hi, invex. Gio library provide icons in an asynchronous way, this mean, that when you opened the menu you will see how the icons are loading and thats lock bad and take time. There are an internal class in the cinnamon API called St.TextureCache. This class help to load an icon texture from a Gio.ic...

Re: Status of vertical panels in Cinnamon (?)
I don' t like it, if you considerer that this is important create an account on github: https://github.com/ Then open a new issue in cinnamon web site: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/new And write your request there. You can see this when a new stable version of cinnamon will be releas...

Create a Mint backend for packagekit.
In the github roadmap i can read this: use aptdaemon? aptdaemon doesn't work in LMDE and is being abandoned upstream in mintupdate, remove dep on synaptic, remove admin rights for checkAPT.py in mintwelcome and codec menu entry, switch from apturl to aptdaemon in mintsources, remove dep on synaptic ...

Re: Status of vertical panels in Cinnamon (?)
I think no one want to add this by default, but could like to some one the idea and then add it to an specific applet. I really think what it's important is the fact that we have now the vertical panels. Is now possible fork a default applet and make a simple rotate of the main applet actor. The act...

markfilipak: Sorry, but you are wrong. I speak about this possibility here: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/pull/4996#issuecomment-192765413 This is in fact possible and more easy that what currently was done. But of course, this solution it's not very functional and also It is devoid of aesth...

Re: Cinnamon 2.8 flickering main popup menu
If you speak about configurable menu, yes is not useful now. If you speak about Cinnamon Menu, apparently you have a Video Graphics issue in your system. The flickering occurs because the intensive use of GL inside the cinnamon menu to paint a polygon constantly. https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamo...

Re: How to configure menu in Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.2
Timoteo, ok have items and subitems is other thing... And was my plan produce a layout or a new menu to allow what you want. Certainly is a little difficult in cinnamon, if you want to have several submenus open at the same time (speaking of how the api is), but not impossible if you redefine the ap...

Re: How to configure menu in Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.2
Timoteo, in Configurable menu, for some layouts as mint, or windows 7, you have an additional panel to drag and drop most common items. What you want to do, is certainly not a common task. Normal users will prefer a favorites instead of delete items. Not all layouts of configurable menu, are design ...

Re: Mint Menu (in Cinnamon) Error
You have a problem of some invalid characters in some application name. To fix it you need to find the .desktop file that is the cause of this problem. One way is copy all .desktop file to other place and then add it one by one again, i will recommend you not edit it in the cinnamon menu editor, bec...

I'm not right now on my desktop pc (so i can not help you with a video for this specific layout). Please go to "all applications" (right-top corner) then inside the places category(inside the menu), select the item that you want, as for example "Documents", with a sustained click...

Re: Add places to "configurable menu" applet
Hi, what you found is an entry to set dynamically the link buttons and is not available over all menu layouts, just mint, windows 7 and other with an extra panel. The idea is drag and drop your items from the place category (in your case) to the extra panel, there are not a way to define an items an...

Re: Why does Cinnamon need PulseAudio
Thats is pretty simple to answer. In linux, if you have an app without a dependency, is worse than have a dependency to the wrong places. Think, that all default applets, desklets, extensions are applications, then they need to have dependency to other system packages, but they are not really a pack...
