So if I were to use the Ubuntu Edgy nvidia guide(http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Latest_Nvidia_Edgy), It would work?

I'm new to Mint Linux and I hear that it has a more multimedia type focus, so I was wondering what all is included? Media codexs, nividia drivers, the whole shabang? Also, does automatix work with it? Thanks!
