Re: [Solved] System Hanging up During Suspend

Since the update to Linux 5.3.0-40-generic x86_64, suspend works again. It seems to me that the bug in the kernel is fixed. Should we call the problem SOLVED ?

Re: [Solved] System Hanging up During Suspend

So changing CPU is the solution?
There must be something else to do to the kernel.
CPU: Intel i7 950 (8) @ 3.068GHz GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6850 works with the kernel Linux 4.15.0-58-generic
but not with Linux 5.3.0-26.

I don't by a new computer yet, but stick to the last working kernel.

Re: System Hanging up During Suspend

Same problem as above. Suspend worked fine with kernel 4.15.0-58 . After that every update results in suspend problems; to say: After reboot suspend works as expected the first time. A second time results in hangup. The programs stop but fans still running. A reset button and full boot is needed to ...

Re: Mint19 MATE: network connection doesn't wake up from suspend with linux-4,15<SOLVED>

Resume from suspend is often something that can be a bit unstable with certain drivers. It just appeared a fairly wide-spread issue with the early 4.15 versions as far as wifi drivers were concerned, but personally I have no device anymore that runs into this issue with 4.15 since the mid thirty-ve...

The script worked too. Now it seems solved. One question remains: Why does the linux-4-15.0-** kernels wreck the function?

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r sky2
sudo modprobe sky2
Thank you too! That works. Now I'll try next step.

Mint19 MATE: network connection doesn't wake up from suspend with linux-4.15.0-45 <SOLVED>

After updating the kernel from 4.13.0-45 to 4.15.0-45 the wake up from suspend does work, except for network connection. I can't start it manually either. Tried to report it as a bug, but Ubuntu doesn't support that kernel. Am I the only one with this problem? Some simple solution, that I miss?

Re: Mint19 MATE : never wake up from suspend

Mint 19 and 19.1 wake up with the linux 4.13.0-45 kernel. So far no 4.15 kernel has worked for me. That's to say the computer wakes up but doesn't reconnect to the Internet.

Try gThumb it is probably same as Pix. It is better as organizer and import tool. Agree that Shotwell is no good. It has a will of it's own and not a very useful one

Marco not starting automatically

This problem seems to have been up before, but no solution. Somehow I wrecked the boot up. The desktop with four workspaces doesn't start and windows have no frames. I can run "metacity --replace" and it looks OK. As I place marco in "Startup programs" /usr/bin/marco it also star...

I have Linux Mint 17-2 Rafaela 64 bit. I get an update message and install the update for multipath-tools. Re: cups-browsed - a new bug in Mint 17 MATE -[SOLVED]

BUM only works with the old sysV type of services. Cups-browsed is controlled by upstart.
Aha! One more piece of valuable wisdom that I gratefully notate on my shirtcuff.

Re: cups-browsed - a new bug in Mint 17 MATE - SOLVED

Thank you for clarifying this. cups-browsed was in the startup list of BUM, but unchecked. It started anyway. Now I know how to stop it, but as I have already removed the program it will remain removed. It may work fine with MAC. Could I possibly be the only one who had those problems? [1] Apple inv...
