Desktop shortcut/launcher fails [SOLVED]

Hi,
I'm trying to create a desktop launcher for freecad

right-click desktop - "Create a new launcher here"

Name - Freecad
Command - "LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=true freecad"
Comment - Cad

but nothing happens when I click the launcher.
I can start freecad from the terminal fine.
What am I doing wrong?

That looks like it, cheers.

But previous upgrades never reset all my settings, which is annoying.

Re: Firefox 63 buggy

Just updated Firefox to 63...

Opened ok, then I did my usual close (hitting the 'x')

re-opened later and all my tabs had defaulted back to blank firefox grrr.

it didn't give me the option to save tabs and exit.

Any idea where it went?

Hi, I'm messing about with conky, I like it! managed to modify/cut/paste an existing one and it's nearly there... However, I can't figure out how to display local ip. It display public ip no problem. Re: Need a little confirmation, or advice

Mmm, thanks Pjotr, The reason I had the thought was the amount of SSD writes, the led flashes 2 times a second, I assume it's some kind of logging and as I'm wary of of SSD life, which is affected by many read/writes I thought moving /var (logs etc) and /home (used a lot) would help lessen the wear ...

Need a little confirmation, or advice

Hi wonderful helpful people, I have a new PC and dual boot win10 and mint. I've had issues and still it's not entirely stable but that's another story. I have 2 drives, sda is an SSD with win10 on half and mint on the other half, sdb is a HDD 1tb for data currently split into half NTFS/ex4. I rushed...

Anyway, didn't think I was going to splurge like that all over your thread, but the mind was wandering over a few past memories whilst the fingers just typed, and rather than backspace or delete, I decided ah well and just hit the 'Submit' button! :) No Probs, another interesting read as AXgl1500 s...

I found this extremely interesting. I'm going to keep your history stored for easy access, if you don't mind. it shows how we all got to where we are today. Cheers AZgl1500 (Goldwing?) Re: Been here a while, had amazing help. This is my intro...

Must be getting old, I remember too much of this first-hand. CP/M, wordstar (I could probably still remember most of the control codes), 300 baud modems, GEM (digital research's attempt at a GUI hampered by lawsuits from Apple - so nothing could move around), PR1ME computers - the word user-hostile...

Been here a while, had amazing help. This is my intro...

Hi folks, I've been a mint user for a while now, a few years in fact. On occasion dug around these forums for help and assistance which makes me like mint even more. I have just built a new PC and had a few issues (mostly solved) installing mint and while doing the obligatory backup of the old HDD c...

Anyone else collect Pi's and other SBC's?

Hi, I have just built a new PC, and while reorganizing my desk came across quite a few bits of tech. Currently... Raspberry Pi 2B running a flavour of kodi plumbed into my TV, able to play media stored on another Pi3 with a 1tb USB drive on the network running a large variety of stuff. Couchpotato, ...

Re: New build prime b350-plus W Ryzen 2200g no go

Hi, I'm having similar issues. B350 mainboard + Ryzen 2400G I dual boot so might be different. The steps I took were to install in compatibility mode, this got me to a software rendered desktop. Then I added "ukuu" which lets you use new kernels. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:teejee2008/ppa sudo apt-g...

Re: Ryzen 5 2400G Working Flawlessly on Mint 19 (so far!)

Re: Proposed new build 2400G + SSD drive

Update! Well the thing lives! It was not straightforward. I made space for mint on the SDD, created a bootable UEFI mint usb stick. Insert and reboot pressing F11 to get to boot menu, selected the usb and had to boot mint in compatibility mode, followed prompts to install. Did the partition creation...

Re: Proposed new build 2400G + NVME drive

Thanks Cat, I can see I still have to learn, always interesting :) I see what you mean. We have 2 workstations at work, built a few months apart, very high spec used for solidworks cad and rendering with huge memory and eyewatering graphics cards (nvidea quadros). The only difference was the storage...
