Re: Mint-X themes

I think I may be able to confirm your issue, possibly a bug. On my system (Mint XFCE) I can change between many different themes successfully within the window manager settings. But when it comes to the Mint-X variant themes, they all look like the standard "Mint-X" no matter which one is picked. I ...

Re: How to Add Linux Mint to my Win8 Homegroup

Sounds like a job for Samba . For some reason Samba can be a pain to get set up for someone who has never done it before, but when you get it working the rewards are oh-so sweet. It took me 2 days the first time I tried to set up shared folders and eventually make a home file server. Unfortunately I...

Re: Mint-X themes

If you have the theme folder "Mint-X-Aqua" with the gtk/xfwm subfolders and index.theme file, you might just be able to save the theme folder directly to "~/.local/share/themes/" (you will likely need to create the folder) or "/user/share/themes" (with sudo privileges). I never used an "installer" f...

Re: How to start from scratch

Just a thought. Sounds to me like you have a possible graphics driver issue. I had similar issues when running with out proper drivers in the past, however that is usually something that happens from the start and normally doesn't just develop over time. If you have time before it freezes when you f...

Ryzom for Linux

Just curious if there are any fellow Ryzom players out there in the Mint community? I notice it is not listed in the Mint software manager like it is in the Ubuntu software center; so it might not get as much attention from those just using Mint. The newbie island seems to be pretty scarcely populat...

Re: playing ryzom

I'm just curious if you tried changing your resolution back to your preferred setting in the System Settings > Display?

I expect you might have tried that, but you didn't mention it.

Re: [Dual boot] Need help with boot-repair

Have you tried running boot-repair again after removing the secure boot option in the BIOS? I can't see that it could possibly hurt to run it again.

Re: command not found in terminal when I copy & paste

Looks like you need to remove the "echidna ~]$" from your paste.

Also I assume you need to put an "a" or "b" or "c" (or whatever the partition label is) in your second command. Should be something like...

Re: Linux or Ubuntu for a tablet. Possible??

Ubuntu is Linux... you can find info about what you are trying to do here http://developer.ubuntu.com/start/ubuntu-for-devices/installing-ubuntu-for-devices/ . Fedora also has an ARM distribution if you are interested... https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/F20/Installation I would sugge...

Have you looked at any of the pointer themes on gnome-look? There appear to be lots of multicolor themes to choose from.

This one appears to have a variety of colors to pick from... Alkano all in one

Re: Puppy user trying out mint

Re: What game(s) would you want to be natively support on Li

Anyone know of any good first or third person shooters worth trying out? I like the more tactical, team based shooters. Must run natively on linux, or at least be easy to setup on WINE. Have you tried "Team Fortress 2"? Its available in steam with a native Linux install. Haven't tried it because it...

Re: How to set folder in which screenshots are saved

Mint Cinnamon 17 should be using gnome-screenshot by default. I don't think it can be customized easily to save in another folder location. Other screenshot utilities can be installed (as mentioned by Habitual) and assigned to the screenshot button in the keyboard settings. From what I've read, "Shu...
