Re: html files & folders as one element

@MiZoG

Thanks for this very interesting link. This is good for future downloads but I would like to get the already downloaded pairs into one file or handled together.

I remember - might be wrong because too long ago - that in Windows XP it was possible to treat pairs of .html-files and _files-folder as one element. One name change, ch...

Zoom Update Verification

LM 20.3 Cinnamon I was forced today to join a Zoom meeting and the application was outdated. To update Zoom I downloaded the new version for LM and got the .deb-file. Concerning a key to make sure the download is correct, they offer "key fingerprint" and a public key. My impression is that...

Re: Help for muliple language support

@billyswong Thanks for the link to the other thread about Chinese. I used IBus/Anthy before, tested it when I installed this PC against Mozc and Fctix and found it for Japanese somewhat better but don't recall the details. Before that I used IBus/Anthy for years. ZenKaku/HanKaku key is a special tog...

Re: Help for muliple language support

@billyswong Again, thanks for your helping information. Now I use the ZenKaku/Hanku key to switch between Japanese and English input. When I now add the Keyboard-French-French (US, with French letters), will then the sequence be English-Japanese-French and then start from English again. Toogle switc...

Re: How to update Evolution

Thanks for replies. The Mint repository has only the 3.36.5-0ubuntu1 version. I just wonder if it is safe to download the 3.5.x stable version and install it. With my post I hoped to learn from an experienced Linux user about the installation of the 3.5.x stable version with a download from the GNOM...

Re: Are my timeshift settings correct?

Screeching at people isn't an effective way to persuade or inform. ROSt , as far as I'm concerned, keeping the Timeshift snapshot list clean is a good enough reason to use the app to delete snapshots. It is true, though, that rm does the same thing from a space-used perspective. It's also how one r...

Re: Are my timeshift settings correct?

@schellasu Thanks for your post especially your quoted statement that Each SnapShot is a FULL an INDEPENDENT copy of its source Here I assume that snapshots may only be deleted within TS. NO!!! It simply does not matter. All TS does after rm ...../SnapShot is, it removes the SYMLINK pointing to it....

Re: Are my timeshift settings correct?

To all of you who posted in this thread. I am really grateful to all of you for your posts because I could learn from each one bit and have now a feeling how TS works and where I need to do what and also what not do. When I started about 10+ years ago, with Linux Mint, I discovered a nice sentence ...

Re: Are my timeshift settings correct?

I guess my explanation was too much. @JerryF No it was not. I picked up information from each posting. Here a bit and there a bit and have no a feeling on how TS work. Can I explain it - the next level of understand? No way. During this whole thread, it would be nice to have a document like "T...
