Re: Dual Boot Win10 & Mint Seperate SSD

Thanks, that's about where I thought I was going wrong, the other thought was maybe I just need to try with UEFI disabled completely, but if all I need to do is A) not create an EFS partition & B) tell Gparted to use sdaA's EFS partition, I might be in with a chance. :)

Dual Boot Win10 & Mint Seperate SSD

Hi all, I realise there is this topic, but it's referring to vista, not win10 http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=214115 I have also read this Tutorial http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=163126 but it just assumes the install is going onto the same drive as win10. ...

Re: Complete Linux N00b - With Hardware/Install Questions.

Re: Linux, for gamers? Whats your thoughts?

Hi, let me start of with an apology, I don't intend to hijack the topic. However this topic caught my attention, and I'd very much value all opinions. Booman particularly seems to know what he's talking about. I'm currently running Mint16KDE on an old HP 2.5Ghz//8GB Ram//1GB dedicated Nvidia Graphi...

Re: Complete Linux N00b - With Hardware/Install Questions.

RAIDing the Msata's was purely for capacity, but I've since realised that with Linux I can designate some partitions to the scorpio blacks, like /home etc, to free up space on the SSD for a cache partition and applications. As long as I can fit the OS, Cache, and say 100-150gb free for applications ...

Re: Complete Linux N00b - With Hardware/Install Questions.

That's a pretty expensive test, as the new laptop would be in the £1600- £1800 range, mostly depending on one model or the other, one without RAID, one with, and also the cost of the Msata drive(s). I'd love to be able to test this on my older laptop, but the hardware just isn't there for Msata or R...

Complete Linux N00b - With Hardware/Install Questions.

So I have a very very tiny amount of experience with linux mint 16 kde, as in, I installed it for a friend on his old old pc. This also included using the Console to install his printer drivers. Not too much hassle at all. Btw, I'm rather experienced with Windows & Dos from the 3.1 / 6.2 days to...
