Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

It seems I was too 'harsh' in my previous posts. Disregard what I said. Enjoy your LM geek tools. Take care.

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

What I mean is ONE control panel for 'Settings' instead of having them strewn all about in 3-4 separate control panels. There's one trick in Windows to do the ' Godmode Control Panel ' that has every possible setting you could want to ever tweak in one place; with a GUI to boot. So why not have that...

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

What am I dissatisfied with? Arrogance. Sheer 'computer geek' arrogance by most of the Linux community. Re: Newbie - how to establish WIFI with Virgin Superhub

You may want to clear out old/unused entries in your WiFi settings and then try to reconnect 'fresh' and re-input any passwords you need to connect to the WPA or WPA2 network. In Linux Mint, network connections are stored in: /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections You need to open that directory as ...

Re: mint 'incompatible' with school network

That is amusing and an interesting setup to use. I don't know of many universities that go to that length to secure their networks (installing certificates, really!?). That said, it is a fairly simple process to do if you know what you're doing. If you don't know then go to your university's IT dept...

forum security

Here's an idea. How about encrypting the login at least? Is that too much to ask? Goodness forbid we have encrypted forum browsing/posting in the aftermath of GLOBAL CYBERWARFARE by police-state govts that give as much a damn about citizen rights and constitutions as we do about paper towels. Encryp...
