After getting an extra PS2 keyboard and mouse, I could navigate in Windows 7 and install the USB 3.0 drivers from CD. That made all USB work again.

Problem solved...!

First of all, thanks to srs5694 for making the rEFInd available! I am quite a beginner with Linux, just digging into Linux Mint, but have managed to install a dual boot setup with Windows 7 and Mint 16 in EFI setup. Grub is not used.
