Re: Error: Invalid environment block

Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing that's gotten me through this, and I've had to do it multiple times as well. I'm surprised no one from the dev team has replied to this thread yet. :V

Re: Error: Invalid environment block

One more try to get anyone to look at this. Went away for a week, power went out while I was gone, and now the machine is inoperable because of this stupid-ass error that no one seems to know how to fix. I'm posting from the freaking LiveCD. If there is not a fix for this obviously fatal flaw, why w...

Re: Error: Invalid environment block

Gonna try this one more time. I've gotten lucky for the past few weeks in that the local power grid hasn't crapped out on me, thus forcing me to reboot this thing. Seriously, is there no available fix out there?

Re: Error: Invalid environment block

Aaaanyone at all? Any thoughts? This is kind of a serious thing. If GRUB can't handle something that is by no means broken, it kinda needs to be dealt with.

Error: Invalid environment block

I just built a new computer, been trying to install Mint 14 on it with Cinnamon (will eventually go back to my old staple of Fluxbox, but obviously the CE hasn't quite caught up yet); however, every time I try to reboot, I get the error message in the subject. After some research, this appears to be...

Re: mintConfig crashes?

To fix your resolution, use System Tools > Display Settings... But this only sets the resolution for your user. Well, but that's the thing - Display Settings and xrandr have two different sets of available resolutions. I'm finally using the resolution I wanted with xrandr, but it's kind of a hassle...

mintConfig crashes?

I am unsure what happened, but I just upgraded to LinuxMint 6 Fluxbox CE this evening and, while the first few times it loaded just fine, mintConfig now appears to crash upon starting. This happened after attempting to do something about my incredibly low screen resolution. It doesn't completely cra...

Re: Linux Mint 6 Fluxbox RC1 released!

Very likely a stupid question, but this is my first tentative upgrade of LinuxMint (from 5 to 6); is this done via a reinstall, or is there a way to just upgrade the packages?

Re: mintConfig Config?

gconf-editor seems to have worked perfectly; however, the font trick did absolutely nothing of note. Ah well; at least now it looks like it actually somewhat belongs on the system.

Re: mintConfig Config?

Any particular reason this question was moved from "Newbie Questions"? I put it there because I felt it was sufficiently stupid a question and that the answer would've been obvious regardless of what edition I was using, that I was merely missing something. If that's not the case, then perhaps this ...

mintConfig Config?

Just started using Linux Mint last week (I have to say, I'm impressed so far); however, I'm having a bit of a problem with mintConfig. Specifically, I'd like to know how to change that particular utility's fonts and such. I'm running the Fluxbox CE, if that matters. The color of the text agrees with...
