MInt-X-Icons-Dark needs fixing.

I love mint but i'm struggling to find a reason why this issue hasn't been fixed. https://github.com/linuxmint/mint-x-icons/issues/116 The Mint-Y-Daker theme looks great in mint-mate but the only good icon theme to match the dark panel is Mint-Dark but it's beauty is marred by the ugly low res volum...

Did you have an sd card or something like that plugged in when installing?

Re: How I fixed my installation problems of linux mint 17.1

Did you check the md5sum of the mint iso to make sure the iso is good?

That should be the first thing you do after downloading the iso.

In linux it's just a matter of opening a terminal, typing md5sum and then drag the iso onto the terminal.

Re: I have/like Mint- but...WHY? What was the point??

The main reason i use linux and mint is because 1.Stability. 2.No running around looking for exe files and having to meticulously uncheck toolbars and crapware etc. 3.Little chance of viruses and spyware 4.Much quicker to install, try doing a clean windows 8 from your old media or recovery partition ...

Re: press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery

hi, I get this message on start-up: "keys: continue to wait or press s to skip mounting or m for manual recovery". I do not want to crash my system so I ask for help with it. Here is a dump of "cat /etc/fstab" # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'blkid' to print the universally un...

Re: Alt-Tab switcher stuck

This did happen to me occasionally when using cinnamon 2.4, i thought i would upgrade to cinnamon 2.6 nightly and see if the problem was gone but it is even worse on 2.6,happening all the time now. Edit: Problem turned out to be from using later nvidia drivers from the ppa, when using the recommended...

Re: Handbrake icon in laucher broken

When I went through the step I outlined in my post, the icon changed in the Mint Menu but not in the panel. I had to remove it from the panel and re-install it from the menu (add to panel). I agree we should not have to go through this process for an app to have its proper icon. For me it doesn't m...

Re: Handbrake icon in laucher broken

I just installed Linux Mint_Mate and encountered the same problem with the Handbrake icon. I fixed it by doing the following: Navigate to /usr/share/applications and locate the Handbrake desktop configuration file. Right click --->Properties and click on the icon image. Navigate where the actual HB...

Re: Weird transparency bug in cinnamon?

Right click on terminal profile - profile preferences - background shade transparent or image background : increase slider to nearer maximum. I don't think that's going to help,it looks like titlebar and window decorations are missing. Op can you try running mint from a live cd/usb and see if you a...

Re: Video Tearing Nvidia Optimus Hybrid cards

Try this Open a CLI and do: sudo nvidia-xconfig Then: sudo nvidia-settings Set your screen resolution and refresh rate in the Xserver settings (I set mine to 1920x1200 @60hz) and save it to xorg.conf Then do: sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf Edit the device section thusly: Section "Device" Identifier "D...

[Solved]Handbrake icon in laucher broken

There is a problem when adding the handbrake icon to the panel,it defaults to a generic placeholder. http://snag.gy/FCbWJ.jpg It seems to be a problem with the mint x icon theme, does anyone know if there is a bug report or a way to report it to the devs? edit It seems to only be broken at certain si...

Re: Why is LMDE 2 not compatible with PPAs ?

Why not just use mint 17.1 then if ppa repos are important to you? If you want newer software you can also manually backport packages from sid yourself. https://wiki.debian.org/SimpleBackportCreation Personally i've never done it because it's easier to just use mint 17.1 with ppa's rather than risk ...

Yes but ubuntu patches nautilus so it would be nice to have a consistent titlebar across the default apps instead of some fixed some not.

Gnome apps with hideous window toolbar?

Are some of the gnome apps going to be patched to be consistent with the rest of the theme? for example gthumb on mint 17.1 cinnamon http://s17.postimg.org/ay1372ym3/Screenshot_from_2015_04_11_10_01_47.jpg looks great and on lmde 2 cinnamon http://s27.postimg.org/4p4f1s7rz/Screenshot_from_2015_04_11...

You can also easily crash nemo by clicking on the show treeview button and then right clicking a couple of times on anything in the left panel.

1 .Open the terminal
2. Type "sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3"
3. Type in password
4. After it installs type "sudo modprobe vboxdrv"
5. Enjoy

If you have any other problems post back with any relevant error messages.
